OT Bag Any Bargains?
I did not do well at all, I went to two stores and they were not the stores I should have gone too. I was pretty bummed by the time it was over. I got something, can not walk away empty handed. but I was disappointed. did I mention that the gustapo at TRU were really really NICE and the gustapo at WallyWorld were quite possibly the most evil creatures in existance.
I WILL NEVER shop in THAT store AGAIN!
I got a Ninetendo game cube for offspring #4 of 5
I got a star wars book for offspring #5 of 5
I got a clint eastwood three movie mania for grandmother of said offspring
I should have gone to staples, oh I shoulda! I could have gotten a CF memory card for me for $15. I am so bummed!
without getting into a 'debate' about people who work and why they work and where they work and whatnot.
the cashier checks you out. at that point, your purchases are tallied, your cevices searched, and you pay your bill, with cash, check, or charge. assuming that your card is working, that the printer is printing, and that the person even knows how to run a paper check (do not get me started on that archaic method of payment) or to make change for a $20. that should be the conclusion of the transaction. IMHO.
from there to the parking lot should be smooth sailing.
why oh why oh WHY a second frisky, check, body cavity search, to get out of the store? they do not LOOK in each bag, they do not REALLY verify that this is this and that is that. they do a token swipe on the receipt so that you can not reuse it that day. what is to freaking stop the cashier that did the initial cavity search from doing that?
first, last, and foremost, it is ineffective system. if that much merchandise is walking out, restructure the departure more like the airport. take your shoes off, run everything through the conveyor belt, and once you are through the scanner, YOU CAN LEAVE.
as for their trials and tribulations as employees. there are some that do the job with a sunny disposition and there are those that just spread the bad humor. Personally I prefer the online shopping experience, my ups man gets up at 430 am every morning but is never crabby with me, regardless if I am the 1st delivery or the 291st delivery of the day. that is customer service that I can appreciate.
everyone gets tired and crabby. the key is to know that when you start to snap, to stop what you are doing and find something else to do because people notice, regardless if you have 1 customer a day or 100.
I got the cutest 3 piece pajama set at Walmart for $10, bought them in blue, red, and black. My husband bought a miter saw at Home Depot for half-off. We bought lots of toys, not on sale. Got my son a RAZR cell phone for free with the hospital discount. I bought my favorite designer jeans Silver line from Maurices @ buy one, get one half-off (and they NEVER go on sale). I also got a Calvin Klein wool & cashmere blend coat from Macy's reg. priced $175 for only $54.99!!!
We had so much fun jus****ching all the people & spending time (& money) together. I am sure going to misss him when we have to go back to work on Monday.
Dar
you go Darlene sounds like you got some awesome "stuff". We got a great stainless steal gas grill for $199 at home depot and it's usually $599 so that might be my best purchase. I got some Levi's for $12 each at WalMart. I bought myself a cashmere sweater but i got it too big and now i don't know if they'll just exchange it for me or give me the money back. We got the kids some cool gifts which helps with the (8) gifts each at Hannukah. Hugs, ANDI
