Anyone else having issues???

Is anyone else having issues? I got so used to seeing the scale drop & fitting into clothes from a long time ago. I really enjoy watching my clothes get so big that I have to get rid of them. It is almost like a high of sorts. Now, people are telling me not to lose any more, just to try to tone more. I don't think I'm ready to stop. I want to lose 20 more pounds, but I am already in 3/4's and 5/6's juniors. I want to have a cushion. I want to lose a little more than desired so in case I gain a little back, I will still be ok. I feel a little bit unsure. I have been so focused on losing the weight, now what am I supposed to focus on? I am in a funky mood today. Sorry to be bothersome. Hugs, Darlene

I'm not having those issues yet, but I'm sure its normal. It makes good sense. Your body will let you know where you are supposed to stop. I've got people now calling me "skinny" and it really ****** me off. Because I know I'm not. YOU have to be happy with yourself. Hang in there! Mandy

I think part of it is my head. I still see the big me in the mirror, no matter what the size says. I wonder how long it will take for our minds to catch up with our bodies? Darlene

Darlene, I am actually a Junebug...but my surgery was June 8 and so I've found a lot of questions answered lurking on this post. I associate more with the late May, early June surgery dates as with this journey, one or two weeks can make a big difference. I had to reply to your post. I have a friend who is 2 years post op and sometimes she has a terrible time with her mind. She still heads to the women's section at the store - and I bet she is a 7-8, if that. Sometimes we laugh at some of her "fat" antics - as she calls them. So, I don't know if our minds ever totally catch up with our bodies. Thanks for letting this Junebug intrude on the May flowers (as you are lovingly referred to by some of the Junebugs.)

Hi Junebug! Come on over here anytime! I just read a post that it tkes about 3-5 years for our minds to catch up! Isn't that crazy? Hugs, Darlene

Yeah... an office technician here at work calls says, "hey skinny" but I know she does it in a condesending mannor. We aren't friends. She is very over weight and as took time out of her day just to tell me how dangerous it is to have wls. Than she goes on and on about how people have died.. etc.. yawn.. oh back to the subject. I know I am not where i need to be yet and I have seen the scale slow down a bit, but i know I am only 6 months out and the last 30 pounds will come off. I am not near where you are.. if i were I would be happy. Working out... opps.. I forgot that part of the mannual on WLS... I dont.. I know I'm bad. So get over the funk girl.. You're doing great. Enjoy... you look wonderful

Thanks Carla. Don't ya hate it when people are like that. We had a big family get-together on Friday & someone was like "so how are you doing now? Any problems yet? I know this one lady who had wls & 6 months out she had to be admitted to the hospital for..." It was almost like they were diasppointed to hear me say I was still feeling great. Maybe this is just all those hormones that were stored in my fat cells being released. ha ha. Darlene

Hi Darlene! First of all, you are drop dead gorgeous and I would LOVE to be your size! You are just sooooooo dang pretty! That being said, I know what you mean about not seeing yourself how you really are. I look in the mirror and see 300+ pounds staring back. I don't see it yet at all. There is a lady who works in the childcare center at my gym who tells me every single time I drop my kids off that her mother in law had this surgery and gained back all her weight. Well, she tells me this EVERY SINGLE time! It's like she's trying to psych me into gaining the weight back too! Or she's waiting to see if I'll fail. It really is irritating! I'm at a weird spot because I still weigh 193 but my body fat percentage is getting lower to the point where I won't be able to reach a "normal" goal weight. I will still weigh more than what most people would want to for my height. To me this is disappointing! I'm actually really happy with the size I am now because I'm finally wearing misses sizes. But I'd like to get more below this size so I could make sure I could fit into any clothing in a misses section. Make sense? I just want that comfort zone! I know I can lose a bit more but I do miss losing lots each week and feeling my newest clothing get loose. Anyway, I do understand what you're saying ... even though I'm not as tiny as you! I feel like I'm getting close to my own goal and then what???? Deanna

Yessss!!! That's what I mean. Now what? Those highs are gone. I do want that cushion- comfort zone. I just don't want to go all "Nicole Ritchie" & not be able to see it, you know? I'm glad you understand! Hugs, Dar
