Hi everyone! I need some Christmas present ideas! I have a friend who I always exchange gifts with at Christmas time ... the problem is that she has a lot of money and basically buys herself anything she could ever want. I'm a stay at home mom so I'm on a tight budget and I'd like to try and keep her gift to around $20-25 if possible. So, my question is ... what the heck to I get a person who buys herself everything?! I'm totally at a loss! I would love any ideas!!!! Thank you!!! Deanna

I love to make stuff - especially for people like that!! This year I am trying to make everyone knitted hats. It's fun!! I am also making a bunch of those soup mixes you put in a canning jar. I've done cookies and cocoa mixes in the past in the same jars - it's a fun gift! GOOD LUCK!!

Hi Amy! I love the idea of making mixes to put in a jar! That would be neat ... and fun to decorate the jar! Thanks for the idea! Deanna

I like to make gift baskets, but with things that i know the person will love or centered around a hobby that they like. For instance: i have a friend that loves movies, so: I bought items like...movie popcorn, a variety of candies, a dvd, a gift card to blockbuster video, two tickets to the movie theater, a soda/gatorade, ect. Then I bought a big popcorn bowl. I popped two bags of regular popcorn and let it cool. I then filled the bowl with the popcorn and all the goodies. I wrapped it up with clear wrapping and tied a bow. They loved it. For someone who is into health foods and personal fitness: I bought a small work-out duffle, i filled it with healthy snacks from trader joes and gnc. I got dried edamamae, trail mix, turkey jerkey, pirates booty, soy-crisps, protien bars, luna bars, vitamin water (a few different flavors), lifting gloves, arm and head sweatbands, a couple of 5lb bar bells, and a sweat rag. She loved it! This one would be good for a guy too. For someone who enjoys pampering themselves: A basket filled with nail polish, a pumice stone, nail files, bath beads, nice lotion, a bottle of red wine and a glass, one of those massage balls, soft socks, a face mask, a hot oil treatment for their hair, and a pretty towel. You can make baskets as cheap or as expensive as you want. The idea is that you get things that the person will love. Usually those kinds you get in the store that are pre-made have some really great items and some that are not so great. You can find items at specialty stores like GNC or at the 99 cent store. It is just nice to get something that you know someone put a lot of thought into and sometimes these do.

Hi Jennifer! How fun to make baskets! That is a great idea...thanks! Now if I could just think of a theme for one. She doesn't go to a gym, she sells Mary Kay, she doesn't really have any hobbies other than shopping. I just don't know what to get her! Maybe a cooking/kitchen themed basket would be good. I'll have to be creative! Thanks for your ideas! Deanna
