Stupid girl at the gym ...

Hello! I just have to vent my frustrations! And I know you guys will understand! I went to the gym this morning and dropped my son off at the childcare center. All the girls that work there keep asking about my progress because they've seen how much weight I've dropped. Well anyway, they wanted to see my "before" pictures so I brought them in and showed them today. This one girl goes "OMG, look how fat your face is and your legs were just HUGE and fat!" Well, what exactly am I supposed to say to that? "Gee, thank you! How kind of you to notice!" ARG! Anyway, I'm trying to put a positive spin on it but I can't help but feel hurt! After all, I'm still the same person! Just a lot less of me! Deanna

ugh...it's like some people don't have a clue how to talk to people that aren't perfect. sigh.....yes, I can't believe she thought that was helpful

positive spin my once enourmous a$$, face, & thighs! grrrrrr, some people are just insensitive and some are just downright mean. i forget sometimes already how there are people (and many of them women!!) that really seem to hate fat people. what that woman said to you was cruel, but it says so much more about her inner beauty than it could ever say about your beauty, inner and outer!! chin up!! deb

Some people just don't get it! A couple of weeks ago there was a consultant in our office. Well paid older man with a powerful personality. They were doing construction on the floor above us at the hospital & there was a very loud boom on our ceiling. We were all like, "What the heck was that, a bomb??" He said, "No, one of the bariatric patients must have fallen out of bed!" I just gave him the dirtiest look. What a mean thing to say. As for that girl, just turn it around in your mind and think, "What she meant to say -if she had any sensitivity- is that you look great & have come a long way baby!" Hugs, Darlene

Hi Deanna.....perhaps she was just saying what you were thinking which is why it hurts so bad? I look at people like that and smile because although i'm fat i can diet...honey stupid is forever!!!!! Be Well and know that you are perfect no matter what package they put you in. ANDI

I can't believe how some people are. I would have been hurt as well. I'm sure she felt comfortable because of how great you look now, but how rude!!!!!! Jean

well, you could say something like, I can lose weight to get skinnier, but what are you going to do about your rudeness problem? or you could just ignore her.. people. (heavy sigh)

yikes, just proves my point, all people are stupid unless proven otherwise! ;) none of her freaking business, and she has -0- class and totally uncouth in her handling of the situation. I am so disappointed in what I thought was acceptable before surgery in myself, but I sure do not need anyone confirming it like that. ((((((HUGS))))))
