I am getting SO Focused!!!
I know that I started the winter onderland challenge to get everyone excited about their goals....but I am getting SUPER excited.
Do you remember those construction paper rings we used to make in elementary school to count down to things? well I made one with 23 rings for my 23 pounds. I hung it on my closet door along with my winter onderland certificate and a weight loss chart for each week in the challenge.
I am getting so focused and motivated to do this. I want to go exercise by butt off to make it happen!!!

Yeh, me too. I'm more excited now than I was after surgery. I'm going to make a ring chain too and pull one off for each lb I loose. That way I will see my goal getting closer.
I guess it's like an advent calendar counting down the days til christmas only we'll be counting down the pounds to goal. Woohoo!
Thanks for starting this - it's just what I needed to refocus again

Rachael,
That's a really good idea! For those of us who are "visually motivated", this makes a lot of sense.
The last time I did Weigh****chers, our group leader would hand out colored paperclips for each pound lost. I managed to have a paperclip chain of 33 paperclips, before I fell off the wagon and gained all of those pounds back. Anyway, I was thinking I could apply that to the Winter Wonderland Challenge after I read your good idea. Only instead of waiting for the chain to be longer, my goal will be to see it disappear.
25 paperclips and counting ...
Dawn

Rachael,
You have gotten me excited too. I too have 23 lbs to lose till onederland. I like the chain ideal. I plan to construct mine today. You are great and I am glad that I found this site. I lurk on the Texas messageboard, daily. I just found the May 2006 board this week. It is nice to talk (read) from people at the same stage as I am. THanks Gaye
