I'm converted. I find it so much easier not having any snacks. On the days I do, it's so hard to get back on track and I wish I hadn't. As we know this is a lifestyle change. We have to find what will work long term, where we can be in control, not food controlling us and our desires any more.

I am right there too!!!!!! I've even found myself "allowing" myself a cigarette (I stopped preop) to fight the cravings (EVEN WORSE I know!!! but I'm hanging in there and fighting it...no flames please). I was a carb person before surgery. I didn't eat any carbs (except in fruits and milk****il about a month ago (against surgeon's nut plan) and I too find since I allowed myself to have some I want it all the time now. When I was staying away completely it didn't bother me. UGH!!!!!!!!!! But this is not a DIET this is a lifestyle change. I know I can't snack on carbs the rest of my life. I have to find my way to not do it. IF that means NO carbs so be it (ummm....or so I say). Good Luck to us all with this horrible head hunger! Mandy

Me too! I used to crave sweets and baked stuff (the counter at starbucks used to be a nightmare for me), but since surgery its been salt and crunch. Like snack mix and potato chips. I allow myself to have some from time to time. Another no no - I've relapsed into drinking caffeine diet pepsi. One can a day lately. I need to stop!!!!!!!!! Soda is my major weakness. You are NOT alone! Take care, Heather

I also do the pork rinds. 0 carbs and at least I feel like I am getting a little protein in. Sometimes peanuts too. All in moderation. Debbie

I eat a small handful of raw almonds...helps a lot with the crunch, plus it's protein. I suppose you could toast them up with some salt and smidge of olive oil. It might be a little high in fat, but it would certainly be better than the less healthy alternatives. A small handful really fills me up, too, and pushes those cravings away. Carbs are a DRUG! Just say "NO!" *hugsnluv* Phyllis
