Amy, how'd the dinner go?
It didn't
Hubby's interview lasted almost 2 hours and he didn't get home until after 8PM. I bought the orange roughy and the stuff to make the green beans and some spanish rice - but decided 8:30 or later was just too late for a big meal - especially since we both already had eaten our dinner. I will be making it tonight though...and even though he already knows about it - so it won't be a suprise - he is excited.
It was worth it though because he said the interview went realllllllllly well and he thinks he will definetely be getting an offer. Which is a godsend...we have been waiting for an opportunity for him in the town we want to move (the town we moved away from a few years ago) where I have a great job waiting for me. It's a big life change and we are excited and him getting this job would be a huge step. (Did any of that make sense)
So hopefully he'll be getting an offer.
Oh - and he brought me a VERY sweet card and tickets to see Wicked on broadway (in Chicago) YAY!!!! I am so excited...Nov 7th!
We did "celebrate" the kid free evening and the good interview though. *snicker*
Well - since you asked...I'll just tell you my life story...he he. OK - the summarized version anyway.
We met when we both moved to a small town in Central Illinois for work. I was an accountant for a HUGE manufacturing company and he was a store manager for Circuit City. Eventually he got transferred back to the chicago area into a bigger store (we always knew he would) and I left my job to come with. (we were married and VERY pregnant at the time) I stayed home for awhile but then got a job at a verrrrrrrrry small company. I have lots of free time and its a great job to focus on my family - but seriously dead end!! Tom ended up leaving Circuit City after a year being up here (serious ******** - I won't even get into it) and has since gone into banking. I know - weird transition right? But he is managing a bank and is really a "sales" guy.
He doesn't love his new job and we have been considering going back to said small town to get a CHEAPER house and lower cost of living and small town/small schools to raise our family. My old company is begging me to come back and it would mean an actual career for me with chance for advancement and some sense of self worth!!
The company I worked for actually owns a bank and the branch in RIGHT by where we would like to live is looking for a branch manager - so that is what he interviewed for!!! Ideally he would like to go back to school or something...he changes his mind everyday. And with my job down there eventually I could support us and let him pursue whatever he dreams of - but for right now it's a great opportunity for us to make a really easy transition and get back.
Now - if we could just sell our damn house up here...that's a WHOLE other story!!! Poo on the housing market!!!
