We Wish you A Merry Christmas....
Hi Missy,
Yes I am most definately collecting the recipes that you all have posted. I have them saved in my personal folders..I am going to make some of them and I bet you no one will even notice that they are made either sf or with a sugar substitue. LOL Boy you are right!!! we are so close in stats. well congratulations on your weight loss. it is so exciting to see all of these body changes just transform right before my eyes. Sometimes it just kind of freaks me out...
Yeah and the whole Wal-mart deal gets me fired up to. Like I said I have 9 grandchildren and 6 children. Now if I counted all od my neices and nephews that is a total of 21 more kids to buy for . Just will not be able to do it anymore I guess. Oh well with all the presents they get from mom and dad and other aunys and uncles etc they will all come out fine.
Well you have agreat day and I hope to talk to you again soon.
Happy Halloween

Gift Certificate at SnapOn Tools. guaranteed perfect fit! http://www.snapon.com/
Oh, Kat I had not even thought of a gift certificate!!!I think he has everything snap on has to offer, but there is this racing shop here in town so I will check that out & see if they have gift cards or something!!!Thanks!!!Even though its early ya'll be careful traveling!! Did you see the recipe I posted for pumpkin pie the other day!!My friend gave it to me & she swears it is good!! ~Missy~
in my defense. I buy all the gifts for my 5 children. I buy all the gifts for my parents and my inlaws. I put up the tree, I decorate the house, I do all the baking. I do all the shopping for the dinner, I plan out the menu, come christmas morning, I put the big fat bird in the oven. I cooke everything that day from scratch, deviled eggs, glorified rice salad, candied yams, mashed potatoes, pepper gravy, cranberry stuffing, fresh homemade bread, I stuff the stockings, I make the home cooked breakfast (pancakes/hashbrowns/bacon/eggs)
when it comes to gifts. I usually get one from my parents (check for $35). one from his parents (re-gifted jewelry) and one from him (last year a book). usually I will get something from the dollar store from two of the kids.
THAT is MY christmas. it is excruciating difficult to keep 'giving' for the last 29 years, (yes, I have been IN CHARGE of christmas since I was 13 and still get excited, when I am THE ONLY ONE. they rip through the goodies, they play with the goodies, they gobble up the food and say thank you. but you know, it just doesnt 'give me pleasure' anymore.
just one year, I would like to have someone go gungho about the holiday for me. to treat me. to buy me a birthday cake (my birthday is 6 days before and so far I think my husband has bought me one special birthday cake in 10 years.
Kat, No defense needed!!!I too do it all!!The only thing my hubby does is put the lights on the house!!I refuse to go on the roof!!!I do all the cooking for BOTH families & all the gift wrapping, meal planning (can't even get inlaws to make plans they are last minute people & I like to have a game plan)decorating, etc....It does get hectic & frustrating!!!I just try to take it all in stride!!!At least for my child I try to make it memorable!!!If you really think about it all that we do is really not shown the proper appreciation!!!(my hubby has been better the last 2 yrs with the gifts though--gotta give credit when its due) But not alot of appreciation from the inlaws!!!(by inlaws I mean all of them brothers sisters etc...) Wow your birthday is 6 days before Christmas!!!That has got to be hard!!!Men are just clueless when it comes to birthdays, anniversaries Etc...Except Amys I hear he was really sweet to her last night!!Mine was clueless this year on my birthday & our anniv. cause he couldn't take me out to eat!!!That's all we ever did. I don't know what I will do when my baby is older!!!I really would just like to take off and go to Gatlinburg(Smokey Mountains)Rent a chalet with a fireplace & have it snow just once!!!& leave all the family behind!!!But until then....I'll just keep on keepin on!!! ~Missy~
my husband and have never celebrated an anniversary in 10 years, so I am gettin double gipped. giggle
he does not buy me birthday presents, but he used to take me to a cajun seafood resturant each year, now what are we going to do? heehee
he is not a bad guy, he will buy me what I need all year long. so I totally do not want to paint that picture. he is great. but rather than once a year, he is thoughtful all year long. so christmas is just another day. I just get bummed, because it is just another day.
Yeh, I get what you are saying. Men can be so thoughtful at times and then not at all. I've been having a go at my man recently for that very thing. How can they be so different at different times? Ron is the most thoughtul man I know - most of the time!
People like leaving everything to those they trust. You both obviously do such a good job but yeh, would be nice for someone else to take charge for you once in a while. You could all come to mine if you like, hee hee. I LOVE christmas. Cant' start early enough for me. Done all the shopping 'cept hubbies. Always difficult to buy for men. Still got little bits & pieces - stocking stuffers type thing, so I can still enjoy shopping. We dont' celebrate thanksgiving here, so I have to wait til at least 1st December othehwise people think you are weird. (No I am Not weird )
