I loved pineapple pre - op but its on one of my surgeon's list but banned on another because of its (stringy texture). I'm struggling getting any fruit in and I've really been craving pineapple. Just wondering what your experience has been with it. Mandy

Mandy are you talking about fresh or canned!!!I have eaten pineapple several times in this dessert recipe a friend gave me: 1 can pinapple tidbits 1 apple chopped 1 small bag chopped pecans 1 8oz sf cool whip 1 small box sf butterscotch jello mix all ingredients & chill for at least an hour. It is sooo good!!!I just chew the apple & pineapple really well & I've had no problems. Hope you enjoy!!! ~Missy~

I love the Dole Canned Chunks (in its own juice of course). I may try some and just see what happens.

Hi Mandy! I used to love pineapple before surgery and I'm allowed to eat it now but it tastes VERY sweet to me now! I don't even want to eat it anymore because it tastes mouth-puckering sweet to me and I don't really care for it anymore. Bummer! Anyway, you could try it and see how it goes for you! Deanna

Too funny that you asked this today..because quess what?? I have pineapple packed in my lunch for the first time since surgery. I havent been avoiding it for any particular reason...just didn't have any around or desire before now. I Have a 1/4 c cottage cheese with one ring of it all set for this afternoon. I figured pairing it up with the cottage cheese is a good way too add protein to the snack!! I'll let you know how it goes but I don't anticipate having any issues with it.

I ate crushed pineapple within 2 weeks of surgery. My mom made me this lime Jell-o, crushed pineapple, mayo and horseradish salad thingy that was delicious and full of protein. I had NO problems with it as long as the pineapple is sugar free! Enjoy! Phyllis

Hi Mandy! I eat pineapple it's the only fruit i can tolerate for some reason. Pineapple also sweetens your *** (TMI i know) so if you are married it's a bonus for him and if you make him eat the rest for you as well. Be Well, ANDI
