I love Nurse Barbara!
My surgeon has a nurse named Barbabra. She is always in the office on Wednesdays and Fridays when Dr. Richards has clinic. I called the nurse voice mail today because I am still having intense pain in my belly button region from the Gallbladder surgery and when I take the lortab it goes away...almost immediately, but comes back within 2 hours. I can only take it every 4 hours. AND, it knocks me out (as I have pointed out in earlier posts). It hurts to walk around and move like I am supposed to until I take it and then I am out cold sleeping so STILL no walking.
Barbara called me back and laughed a bit at me. She said that she read in my chart that this happened last time and that 15 mL is too much for me...I should take 7 mL every 2 hours. She was so nice about it. She even said she would call back before she went home to make sure the pain was being eleviated with the lower dose more frequently. She's great.
So, I cut back the meds and I even went grocery shopping. I just got finished puting dinner in the crock pot. It looks delicious. BEEF STROGANOFF!!!! Perfect for a cold day. I didn't put noodles or rice in it so that can be added later for DH, but it means I can eat it too!
Have a good weekend everyone
Rachael
My RYN surgeon's nurse is names Barb and L-O-V-E her. Must come with the name!
I got big ole bottle of Lortab after my RYN and I still half like half of it. I still take it once in awhile when I get a real bad headache or something. It makes me feel all lightheaded and goofy (and I kinda like it...he he)
Glad she helped you get the dosing right and you are feeling so much better!!!! (HUG)
Now.....I don't have me a beef stroganoff recipe for crockpot...I demand you share!
Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff
2 lbs. ground chuck
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 packet lipton onion soup mix
2 t. garlic powder
1 T. fresh cracked pepper
3 cups ho****er
Brown hamburger and drain add to the other ingredients in the crock pot. Cook at least 4 hours. Serve over rice or noodles (for the family) or nothing for us Post-ops. It smells really great.
Ooooh...sounds DELISH!! Thanks!!!!!!! I'll definetely add this to my collection...way better then the sour cream ladden one from my mamma!!
Have you tried the Barilla Pasta Plus??? It is packed with fiber and protein and tastes great. Still pretty carb intense but the carbs don't bother me too much... When I make a "sauce" or something I usually make that up and just have like 1/2 - 1 ounce to satisfy the pasta monster in me.
I'm so glad the change in medication dosage is helping you! It's nice to be awake sometimes. lol I have one of those wonderful nurses too. Her name's Anna and she is awesome! I look forward to my appts just to be able to visit with her.
I'm gonna make your recipe this week I think. It looks soooo good! Thanks for sharing!
