Meat causing vomitting still???
Hi everyone!
OK, I know that me and Gail are still having issues with eating meat. Anyone else?
I made a pot roast in the crockpot last night and had a little bit and It was really tender and moist so I don't know what the problem is! I chewed it to heck and it still causes me problems!
I still have a heck of a time keeping my meat down. I seem to do okay with ground beef but if it's anything other than that, it gives me fits. I either get frothy foam and I keep burping up foam. Or I throw it up.
Is anyone else still experiencing this???

Deanna, I can't help you cause I've not had any problems with meats as long as I don't microwave them the next day(tooo dry comes right back up-only did this once) but my friend who is 2 years out cannot eat pot roast-she says it is too stringy & she will but she does ok with chicken & steak!!!How do you do with fish!!Sounds like you may have to stick to something else for awhile longer. Maybe wait until 6 mths then 9 mths I have heard at support group meeting some people have to wait until 12 months!! Sorry I couldn't be of more help-I guess you gals are gonna be in the bunch that has to do the trial & error thing. Unfortunately for me I can eat it all!!lol. (((HUGS)))~Missy~
Deanna,
My NUt told me I had to wait 10 months before trying red meat. That being said, Ive had lean ground beef with no trouble, but I havent gone beyond that because I am afraid too. I hate puking, of course, and it always seems to be meat related when I do. I will most likely wait til new year before I try pot roast - bvut I sure wish I could tolerate it now. Good luck!

Deanna,
I can not eat any red meat at all or i start ing. My doctor did tell me to stay away from red meat for at least a year. he also said that it is the hardest meat to digest. Now the foam and frothing, I too had that and it was my acid reflex. You might want to check and see if you have acid reflex and if so get on something for it. My doctor prescribes nexium. I tried otc prilosec and it made me everytime I took it. i can do pork, chicken and turkey fairly well. good luck and I hope it gets better for you.

Deanna,
I got red meat at 4 months again but it is tricky. My NUT suggests eating dime sized or smaller bites and chewing it a couple of times. Chewing larger bites can create too much saliva going down with the meat and hence the frothing or pucking. I stick pretty much to very lean ground beef right now. I won't attempt meat in public if I am at all concerned about the way it was prepared.
You are not alone!

Hey Deanna, I can identify with you! I still have a very hard time eating meat. It does not agree with my pouch most of the time and causes me very bad pain a couple of hours after I eat it. I'm scared to eat most meat now and try some every couple of weeks or so to see if it's better. Sometimes I'm more successful than others. Ground beef seems to be okay for me, too. Good luck!

for me, I have been eating red white and any other color meat since 6 days out. here is what I can and can not do:
1 oz, and no more. which means about a tablespoon. as long as I keep it under 1 oz, I am hunkie dorie.
yesterday I had beef and broccoli for lunch. 1 oz. the beef was sliced an thin slices, so I was able to get it down fairly quickly.
last night I had chicken, it was a little too dry, so I ended up having 2 cubes, about .5 oz and I started getting neasiated, so I stopped. I am the point now that I just snag one cube at a time out of the frying pan in a flyby through the kitchen. giving myself 10 minutes between bites for optimum processing.
we have fish on fridays, and I bake halibut. 1 lb fillet for 30 minutes at 350 on caste iron and it comes out perfect every single time, just the consistency of moist chicken. I know, what is the point if you wanted chicken, get chicken about $12 a pound cheaper) but anyways, with trulemon and lemon pepper, it is easy to chew and get down, I still only eat about 1 oz of that as well.
personally, I have not had ground beef since august. I ate 2 lbs of ground elk burger in July and it took me FOREVER, so I am good to not have elk for many moons to come.
our grocery store has little medallions of sirloin, they are only 6 oz, I fry them up in caste iron skillet, and quarter them, putting three servings away for later, and eating one.
It may be that the serving size is too much, not the content.
