Hi everyone! I was just curious if anyone is having problems with low blood sugar levels? Previous to my bypass surgery I was Type 2 Diabetic and on two different oral medications for it. I went off both medications immediately after surgery and have never had to take them again! My problem now is that I'm having low blood sugar levels. It mostly happens after I eat a protein bar or if I wait too long between meals. I e-mailed my Dietician and she said to eat every 3 hours and to make sure I include fiber rich carbohydrates with each of my meals. She also gave me some examples of what to eat at each meal and now I'm wondering how the heck am I going to eat all that! Plus, I always eat my protein first and I'm usually too full to eat anything else. I was just curious if anyone else is experiencing this? Deanna

Hi Deanna I had problems after surgery as I was still on my 2 meds for diabetes. It made me feel really rough. I came off them both and have been fine since. Mindyou, just this last week, the sugars have been going lower and I was wondering if they were going to get too low. I'm on the edge right now. Hope you work it out Ruth

Hey Deanna - Do your protein bars have sugar alcohols in them? I heard that they can activate insulin. I heard that after I was having problems with the protein bars that had lots of sugar alcohols in them. Hope this helps, and that you feel better soon! Heather
