The last three weeks the amount in the shower and brush was kinda scary, but this week it hasn't been falling out. I hope it doesn't start again.

"This too shall pass." I already went through that stage & boy was I scared that I would go bald. It seems to have stopped just as abruptly as it began. It did last for about 2 months though. Good luck honey! Darlene

Mine has been - pretty drastically and its been hard on me. Sometimes its all I see when I look in the mirror. I jsut had my hair cut and colored and I hope this helps disguise the fact that I have very think hair now. I have really upped my protein and vit and so I am hopeful this will pass. Keep your fingers crossed!

mine is still falling out, about 8 strands an hour (heehee) yes, I just counted about 10 minutes ago. I have increased my protein, but it has not had an impact, I am sure it is just part of the process. meanwhile, I am deplugging the bathtub biweekly. Start taking Biotin at least 500 mg. Plus at the same time to help no more than 50 mg of Zinc, any higher could seriously burn the insides of your pouch. When I went to the store they only had Biotin in 5000 mg. and I still don't have hair falling out when I wash and comb it. I started taking this combination shortly after surgery.

Mine has been falling out by the hands full for about a month now. It has slowed down. Thank God for thick hair. Adonna

Mine has for a couple of months now too but I think it has slowed down. I found that if I use a conditioner it helps but I think it's only because it allows my crush to not get caught in tangles as much so it's not hanking the hair out. The hair loss is relatively common and is caused by a medical condition called Telogen Effluvium. It's due to the stress from surgery and occurs in other types of surgery as well. It's only temporary and falls out due to the effect the trauma of surgery and anesthesia has on the normal growth cycle of our hair. Take a look at the article found at http://www.emedicine.com/DERM/topic416.htm It explains this condition in detail and will relieve a lot of your worries.
