If you all recall I had an appt last month for my 3 month follow up. I had not received a call about my labs, so I figured they were fine. Well when i checked my messages Friday, my doc had called.........................I made it home to late to call back so I did call today was told that my blood glucose was a little high BUT to my surprise, they want me to increase my protein shakes intake The foods I eat are high protein!! I guess not high enough. I have been feeling pretty disappointed in my journey lately and this doesnt help, but I will increase my protein as instructed. I think I think I'm losing slower than a few in my support group, they told me I exercise to much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Miss Diva....exercise can cause the weight loss to slow down....I find when I just do 30 minute of cardio 3x a week...i am toning and losing at the same time.....dont be disappointed in the journey because in the end you will reach your goal...

I'm sorry to hear that but question how can you be losing too slow by exercising?

I dont think it contributes to me losing slower but it makes the numbers go slower, because I'm building muscle. My clothes let me know I'm losing but maybe not as fast as I wanna.

I would love to be building muscle. Forget the scale your gonna be looking better toned up than just skinny. you may not even need a tummy tuck

according to my dear cardio husband, the exersize is only 1/2 of the equation, the other 1/2 is the down time between for the body to recover. if your body does not have an opportunity to recover, it goes into a decrease metabolism mode. something to do with fight or flight. when we exersize we utilize the chemical release for fight or flight that burns more fat, but if you do that every single day and do not take some time to just 'rest' then your body shuts down and hybernates to conserve the stores or something like that. and you get a negative reaction to the physical training. he rides his bike 14 miles a day 5 days a week and 60 miles one day a week, he does not lose or gain. he lifts weights three days a week and rests the other four. he does not lose or gain, but he is increasing his muscle mass and decreasing his fat mass.

Keep exercising. The more muscle, the better. Don't listen to any naysayers. Do you want to look like a deflated balloon when this is all over? Keep up the good work. Hugs, Darlene

Hey Diva, sorry to hear about the labs . . . . I read an OH article that stated that every few weeks or so we have to change up our workouts because our bodies get used to the routine and becomes complacient (sp). So yes we are gaining muscle but more muscle burns more fat so we should also being losing as well. A personal trainer should revise a workout about every 4 weeks so that our bodies have to continue work. Hoping your next labs are better. Remember doctor's orders. Phenom Goin ya'll
