Hi Tina You've done really well. If my math is correct you've lost 65lbs haven't you. I had RNY on 31st May and have lost 47lbs so you've lost much more than I have. Don't get down, we'll all get there in the end Ruth

You're doing great sweetie, plus you must be getting close to a normal BMI, right? It's hard not to compare, but don't do it. Just compare to how you felt pre-op. Hugs, Dar

HI Tina If you really need someone to compare to!!Here I am-I had surgery on 5-3-06 then had open small bowel repair on 5-15-06 Was in the hospital until 5-23-06 so I don't count the month of May-They had me on Tpn(nutritional feeding 1500 calories a day Through a pic line) So I really count from end of May(which is when you had surgery) My beginning weight was 228 I lost 10 lbs before surgery so surgery day I was 218 as of today I weighed 161. So it seems like you & I are on the same timeline-by the way I am 5'3. It does seem like the scale is slow in moving but I feel so great & I have been going shopping in my own closet(all those old 80's clothes I refused to give up seem to be fitting now)LOL.I just love to try on a pair of shorts I use to wear & they don't fit & then a few days later they fit. Now repeat after me!!!"THE WEIGHT WILL EVENTUALLY ALL COME OFF, & THIS WAY MY SKIN HAS MORE TIME TO RECOUPERATE". This is what I tell myself when I get down about my slow loss!!! Hope it helps to see that someone else is right there with you!!Feel free to email me!!!((((HUGS))))~Missy~

You don't have anything to worry about, Tina. Right now, I weigh just 3 pounds lighter than what you weighed when you had the surgery. It's all about percentages. I started at 365 which is well more than what you started out at. So just keep doing what you're doing and you'll get to your goal in no time. Jorge

Hey I know how you feel. Except I think I am the slowest loser. LOL. I had my Rny May 15th and I was 222 I am now 173. I have lost 49 pounds. I also lost 24 pounds pre-op. So that is 71 pounds, the 24 pounds pre-op took me like three months to lose. Hey we still have half a year before the honey moon is over so at our weights I wouldn't be to worried I think we will make it. Here is a real funny for you, I still get scared I will lose to much weight. Weird I know. Well keep up the good fight.

I swear I am going to step on each and everyone's boohoo. it is all a matter of %'ages. the more you have to lose, the faster you loose, the less you have to loose, the slower you lose. I.... I... I... as long as you are losing, is that not the point? even if it was only 2 lbs a month... hmm 2 -5 lbs a month is NORMAL, and we are 5 months out (I am only 4 months and 2 days, but devils advocate) so that is 25 lbs. no one here, NO ONE has only lost 25 lbs. so everyone here, EVERYONE, is a WINNER. incase anyone is interested, I have lost 64 lbs since surgery, in 18 weeks, that is 3.58 lbs a week. no diet in the world is going to give you 3.58 lbs a week! Okay - I'm getting on the soap box and going to be a ***** To each and every one of you.... TAKE THE WORLD ONLY OUT OF YOUR VOCAB! Secondly.... when before this amazing tool did you ever lose that much in such a short amount of time? Feel blessed that not only have you lost it - but it's gone - the rest of your life. FEEL BLESSED that you're losing slowly... those that lose slow are MUCH less likely to require plastic surgery (which is MUCH more expensive and painful then RNY). BE THANKFUL. The word ONLY should ONLY be used when saying "I ONLY HAVE XX LEFT TO LOSE!" Off soap box.
