Is anyone else takng B~12 injections??? I was taking the the B complex and chewables, but I remember before when I was on one of my many diet programs the docs would give me B~12 injections. I'm gonna ask my doc about it on Monday but they also sell it online. As I said before so far my labs have been fine but the B~12 gives you a GREAT energy boost and it also helps for anyone with anemia.

No I don't have injections or any B12 suppliments. I think I'm going to research where I can get some over here. I could do with the energy boost. Ruth

I was taking the super B complex and my nutritionist told me to stop taking it because our pouch can not absorb it. The surgeon had previously told me that B12 stays stored in the body for a year after surgery and that we should not need anything extra til then. Hope this helps. Kel

Howdy . I started my B-12 injections last month . My dr encouraged it due to the fact I was getting nausea from the oral ones.

I am actually taking the sub-lingual (liquid) B-12 drops every day, but usually when it's about time for my next check-up (every 2-3 months), I start feeling sluggish, and my doctor will give me a B-12 shot. He (my surgeon's follow-up doctor) says I can get B-12 shots every 2-3 months, but to keep taking the sublingual as well. He says the shots give you a quick boost, but it fades pretty quickly. The sub-lingual give you a more constant, longer lasting energy boost, but not as strong as the shot. So if you feel really low in energy, it won't hurt to get a supplemental shot every few months.

I take the injections and I really like it. I was forgetting to take the supplements and feeling really bad. The injections give you a good boost. It doesn't even hurt!

I give myself a monthly B-12 injection. It isn't painful at all (I shoot it into the fleshy part of my upper arm) and it allows me to cross it off my list instead of having to remember another weekly or daily supplement. My surgeon suggested that I have my PCP give me the shot the first time, to teach me how to do it, and that thereafter I could do it myself. Instead, I just had a friend who is an RN show me how to do it, and I was good to go. I highly recommend the shot.

I've been taking the B12 Injections since 2 weeks out of surgery. I don't get a "boost" but it does not hurt and it's very simple.
