Sticking up for myself!

Before I lost a lot of weight, I couldn't have imagined myself doing something like this. As some of you know, i am in seminary and am in classes all week. I have been taking a class (alone) with a particular professor who is a bit intense. I have been trying to get through to him the last couple weeks that he isn't teaching me what I think I need out of the class. He was very unreseptive, etc. Today I went to the administration and complained. They HEARD me. They actually listened and thanked me for bringing it to their attention and they got me out of the class. Before, I would have just suffered in silence not thinking my needs were important. I am so proud of myself. Rachael

Good for you Rachael!!!!! You must be so proud of youself! The more you stick up for yourself, the greater your self confidence will be. I bet you are so happy to be out of that class! Great job! Deanna

You have no idea how happy I am to be out of the class. It was a constant stressor. It even trickled into my marriage being that I would come home in a bad mood. It just was not a good situation.

That's great! It's good to speak up, instead of stuffing all those feelings away with food. It's wonderful that they treated you with respect too. Dar

Good for you, Rachel! The new found confidence we've found has helped in so many ways. Yet here is another example.

Rachael I'm so pleased for you. Isn't it amazing that as our physical bodies get smaller, things inside us, like confidence and self esteeme get bigger! I love that balance. It's almost like the 'fat' was squashing the other things out. Ruth
