Hi there everyone! Is anyone completely and utterly bored with food lately? Nothing, and I mean nothing, sounds good to eat. I've eaten soooooo many string cheeses that I can't even think about them without cringing. It's like all the foods that were easy and safe for me to eat are no longer appealing and just make my stomach churn to think about them. I still have a hard time eating meats and there just really isn't ANYTHING that sounds good. Anyone else in the same boat? What are you eating??? Deanna

I'm bored with ... PROTIEN! I miss carbs. I miss bagels, bread, pasta etc... I don't crave them though - just miss them. I live on lunch Protien shakes for breakfast. Lunch meat (turkey, roast beef, ham) and cheese (swiss, provolone, muenster, chedder) for lunch. Chicken Breast for dinner. I also ALWAYS have a rice cake with Peanut butter. It seems my food is routine DAILY. I'm with ya! I've been getting sick again lately. I've been t hrowing up sick for the past couple of meals - and it's nothing new - which SHOCKS me.

Hi Megan! I'm so glad you know how I feel! I've totally been missing carbs lately too. I made a piece of buttered toast for my son for breakfast today and I was all angry about the stupid toast ... why? I don't know what my problem is! And even if I did eat the toast, I can almost guarantee that I'd take a bite or two and then not want it. Most anything I eat, I'll take a bite or two and then it doesn't taste good and I don't want to eat anything. I've also thrown up a couple times in the last few days. This hasn't happened for me in quite awhile so I'm not sure what brought it on! Thanks for understanding! Deanna

Me too!! I am in a e mail session with my nutritionist all this morning and still now, I got some info on what I'm doing wrong This is my last response from her so I guess I need to regroup "I am not fond of the sausage link, summer sausage, and the 2 slices of cheese and the ritz crackers. Also I would do ½ scoop of the protein powder. Are you physically hungry throughout the day or not really. I would prefer a lean meat chicken or the deli meat of chicken or turkey or lean ham, and for the crackers low fat triscuits, south beach 100 calorie crackers or kashi crackers." "You may not eat a lot, but the fat in some of those foods are higher calories."

Hi there! Wow, it sounds like you got some good advice from your nutritionist! I just have a hard time because I think of deli meat and it just doesn't sound appealing. Nothing really sounds appealing right now! There are some days where I get the urge to graze but the things I'd like to graze on are not good ... like Fritos! Ha, ha! But then I have days like today where I'd just rather not eat anything. Ugh. Deanna

Deanna, I totally understand what you're talking about. Over the past couple of weeks food has not been appealing to me. Now, after coming home from my gallbladder surgery and with sinus congestion I have absolutely no appetite. I feel like I'm starting over at square one....s/f jello and popsicles. I did eat about 2 oz of cheese and 1 chicken fry from Burger King (though not the best choice I figured it was better than nothing!). The good news is this unwanted return to an almost liquid diet has caused me to lose almost 6 pounds since Friday! I just wish I WANTED to eat something. NOTHING sounds good. and Like you on the rare occasion something does sound good---I take a bite and its disgusting. Fortunately I've yet to throw up---EVER since surgery (except when I had my first gallbladder attack back in June but that wasn't due to the food it was due to the naseau (Sp) caused by the horrible pain). anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I totally understand what you are going through! Wow, everyone sounds just like me!!! Bored with my routine. Sometimes I feel that a cruel joke is being played on me; if I eat "healthy" like baked chicken or plain tuna, fresh veggies, etc my pouchie DOESN'T LIKE IT, not one little bit. But, let me loose on a few MickyD's fries (maybe 3-5) and pouchie is So, what's up with this??? Cindy in TX

Hi Cindy! I am so right there with you! I would much rather eat a teeny tiny bit of something "bad" than a good meal. I just have this horrible urge to eat Fritos right now. This really scares me because I do NOT want to return to my old eating habits from before surgery. Hopefully it's just a phase we're going through! At least we can hope we'll move on from here! Ok, I was about to freak because I am the only one who enjoys eating until you posted this. That describes me, but I am giving in to the bad foods when the good ones don't sound good. Darlene

Hi Mandy! That has to be really tough to go back to an almost liquid diet! I hope you're recovering well though. I haven't tried a chicken fry from BK yet ... but I have tried the chicken tenders. Thanks for understanding! It's nice to have friends to talk to about this ... maybe we'll be able to help each other through these feelings and frustrations! Deanna
