New measurements...wow moment for me

Hi all...About a month ago I joined Curves so I would have an indoor place to workout. When you sign up they take baseline measurements. My measurements were done on the 15th of August, although I didn't officially join until the 23rd when I had my first workout. Each month on your 'anniversary' date they will remeasure you to see your progress. For the longest time, a good 2 weeks + I bounced between 178-176 like a stinking ping pong ball. Well yesterday I had them remeasure me. Thursday I was 176, yesterday I was 173. So hopefully that bit of a stall is over. Total weight lost for those 5weeks, 11.5. I guess that isn't so bad considering almost 3 of them were spent bouncing around getting nowhere. But the thing that I found most interesting was the inches lost...11.75. I couldn't believe it. I also lost 3% body fat (9.57lbs) and my BMI went down by 2 pts. Bust -2.00 inches Waist -1.75 Abdomen -1.00 (this is def going to be my problem area-that mommy pouch) Hips -2.00 Thighs -4.50 Arms -2.50 So I guess while you aren't losing weight, we are losing inches. That works for me. For the longest time I've been asking myself...Which is more important-the number on the scale or the size of the clothing. I really can't decide. I go back and forth-I think right now it would be more important to me to say I am a size X than I weigh Xlbs. What about everyone else?

I'm with you - I think at this point I would much rather say I'm a size 12 Petite than I weigh 202. I've been stalled between 207 and 202 for over 6 weeks now. It's been VERY discouraging. But the strange thing is my clothes keep getting bigger and bigger, and I've probably dropped at least one size in that period of time. So I guess I'm losing inches rather than pounds, but at some point I'm desperately hoping the pounds will start going down again. Congratulations on all the inches you've lost - that's GREAT news! I need to 'measure' myself soon, I have not been doing it as much lately, and I have not been weighing as much lately either. I have been in a stall and while Aunt Flo is here, I know that the numbers are completely bogus. so this week, I should see some results. in clothes sizes, I am actually at a number that I could live with forever and consider myself a success. the biggest change is in my middle, I have lost exponentially more inches in the chest, waist and hips area, so instead of being a barrel shaped, I am more of an hourglass now. whoo hoo

Congrats on your very successful month. That's wonderful. Good for you!! For me I consider the size clothes I'm in to determine my success. I work out a TON so I do have muscle weight which isn't bad.

I would like to say the clothes are all that matter, but I am a scale weighing freak. I want to see a certain number on the scale no matter what. What will I do if that means I am underweight??? I do not know. Dar
