Knocked down a peg or two...

After my clothes experience while on vacation I have to admit I was feeling pretty ****y. Well, I had a reality check today!! Since my broadband was down and I couldn't spend all my time on this board, I decided to run into town to do some errands. I had to cut through Penney's to get to Bath and Body Works in the mall, saw a few cute tops and skirts in the womens section, so decided to try on some smaller sizes (hoping to give myself a boost). Well, it backfired...the 1X was a little snug (I just KNEW it would fit) and I would have had to get a 2X to feel comfortable. I was so discouraged I didn't get anything. I guess this will be an incentive to get back on the treadmill...I have been falling off my exercise routine.

Never mind Gail At least you could get into a 1x even if it was a little snug. Give it a week or so and you'll be too small for it. We all need little reminders to stop us getting too smug Dont' worry, you'll soon be there Ruth

Thanks Ruth...I guess we all need a reality check every now and then!! It certainly brought me crashing down to earth--fast!! Back to the ole treadmill!!!

Don't beat yourself up too hard.... I had a similar experience today. I purchased a size 10 skirt ASSUMING it would fit. Wrong. I can't get it zipped up the back!! hahaha THat's okay - it will fit soon enogh. Just like 1x will for you baby doll.

Thank you Megan. Reality checks suck--don't they!! We're going to this party tonite and I was planning on strutting in wearing something new. Oh well, it's just a reminder that I've still got a lot of work to do and I need to get my butt back on that treadmill!!

Hey Gail.. you have to remember that different stores cut their clothes on smaller cuts.....I wear in between a 14-16 bottoms but 14's at the Avenue are really loose on me.....So keep your head up...u sexy mama..... nothing can stop us from getting to the sizes we want to be EXCEPT us...keep up the excellent work.....

Thanks for the encouragement, Karen. I know...I did try to justify that MAYBE Penney's clothes just run smaller??? NOT!!! The fact remains, that I have fallen off my exercise routine and I need to get my butt back in gear and get on track again!!

and then go to Old Navy and try on something, much more pleasant cut. ;)
