I made spaghetti today & it was yummy. It is called Barilla PLUS thin spaghetti. It is made with multi-grains, egg whites, lentils & chickpeas & ground flaxseed. For 2 oz serving: 200 calories 1g fat 10g protein 4g fiber 1g sugar It tasted pretty good. I was originally a little leary. It seems denser than regular pasta & I could only eat a few bites, but I didn't get sick or tired afterwards. Thumbs up for me! Darlene

I LOVE pasta and have tried to stay away most of the time (without much success!). Did you enjoy it? Sounds like a good amount of protein compared to the other nutrients. What did you have with it? Ruth

Hi ruth! It was really good. I was craving spaghetti today at work & I knew I did not want to grab any from the cafeteria. I ate it with Prego spaghetti sauce (fresh mushroom flavor) & parmesan cheese. I know Prego has sugar in it, but I don't care. I only ate a small amount & it was super yummy. Darlene

That's because I didn't want to be yelled at by the carb patrollers. Hee hee... Actually, as long as the sugars aren't too high, I don't pay much attention to the carbs. Here ya go: carbs 38g sugars 1g fiber 4g Darlene

Those are good carbs tho because the pasta is made out of whole grains. I LOVE the Barilla Plus Pasta!!! Its awesome... I haven't made spaghetti yet, might have to try that tonight... but I do buy the spiral noodles and make Mac and cheese with it... so damn yummy!!!!

Wow, sometimes I really miss pasta, I haven't tried eating pasta once since my surgery, but you make me feel better about giving it a try sometime. I'll see if I can find this type of spaghetti near me.

I have made spaghetti with the barilla plus.....and also made macaroni salad with the elbow macaroni and mac and cheese. Its some great stuff. I am not able to eat alot of pasta dishes...they just dont sit well on my baby pouch. But, rice cooked very well I can tolerate. I love spanish rice and I make it now with just ground beef...the good stuff and Stewed tomatoes with some garlic and onion and peppers added. Throw in some grated parm and it is so yummy. I made the mac and cheese the other nite with the Barilla elbow macaroni...it was pretty good I used colby cheese and 2 eggs and 1 can evaporated milk add that to the macaroni...pop in the oven for about 20 min and turns out great.
