Alisa's Wedding
Hey guys
Alisa's big day is coming up (Oct 14th) and I thought it would be great if we could all get together and do something really special for her.
Now obviously it's not going to be a surprise as she's probably read this post, but if we want to keep the actual idea a secret you can e-mail me, or we can just brain storm here.
What do you think? I'm so excited - our first wedding here on the May Board and I KNOW she's going to look stunning in her new body
Alisa - we want to know all about the wedding - details please. Pics of your dress - theme, colors etc etc the whole low down. Plus a look at the lucky man...
Ruth
Ruth, that's so sweet of you to want to do this. You guys really don't have to do anything. You all have meant more to me than you with all the support I've received on this board, more than any other, during our WLS journeys together.
I'll try to somehow get a picture of the dress that is being made loaded onto my profile page, or in an email to you guys somehow. The dress is a kind of duchesse silk, champagne/ivory color, with a gold organza trim along the neckline, just below the hips, and with an organza trail going down the back down the middle of the train.
I'm wearing my hair up and straight, which is very different from how I always wear it (down and curly).
Let's see - what else. The colors are a deep eggplant/plum and silver, with some deep orange accents in the floral arrangements. My bouquet is 35 eggplant calla lillies.
The ceremony and reception are in Atlanta at Rhodes Hall, which is a historic building on Peachtree that basically looks like a little stone castle. The ceremony is going to be outside, with the reception both inside and out. We're expecting about 100 guests, and we're having a buffet-style reception with cake, wine, beer, sodas and a martini bar. The martini choices are going to be Black Martini (Chambord and Kurant Vodka), Lemon Drop Martini, Apple Martini, or Chocolate Martini.
We're honeymooning for a week in Carmel, California.
So all that being said, I'll be "out of pocket" from around October 12th through October 23rd. I'm going to miss you guys like crazy!! I've gotten so used to posting every day, and reading posting throughout the day, that I'm going to go into a little withdrawal while I'm away (smile).
Now here's the kicker. You have asked for the details on my "guy." We'll, I'm getting married (or committed) to a wonderful woman named Lisa. We have been together for over 4 years, and have decided to make it as legal as we can in Georgia next month. We have friends, family and co-workers (some who are flying in from New York, Florida and Michigan) coming to share our special day with usl I know some people aren't supportive of same sex marriages, and that is perfectly understandable and ok with me. But we are always open and honest on this board, and I wanted to continue to be open and honest with all of you. I hope this won't change the way any of you feel about me and continue to corresond with me.
I can say I've never been happier in my life, and my 10-year old son is excited about our upcoming marriage - he's even standing with me as my "Best Son."
Well, that's all I can think of for now! I've got to run to get ready to take my son to his soccer game. Talk to you guys later.
Alisa
Howdy Alisa and Lisa! Let me be the first to say Mazel Tov to you both, it's a jewish congratulations! I'm all for same sex marriages and went to the most beautiful commitment ceremony last year on Fire Island it was so romantic and i even cried. May this just be the beginning of the best times of your lives. Hugs, ANDI
Thank you, Kel. We are both excited about the upcoming day. I actually took Christian ysterday to After Hours Formal Wear to get measured for his tux. This is the only part of the day he's not crazy about. He complained all the time that the tux itches!! I told him he'd have to grin and bear it.....
