Update on My ER Visit
I posted about going to the ER early Sunday (9/3) with horrible pain in my upper right chest through to my back. Well, I had my visit with my surgeon yesterday. He definately thinks its my gallbladder and that a stone was trying to pass through the bile duct. He also said that LFC tests (bloodwork depicting the liver's function from what I understand) can tell if there is probability of gallstones BUT the ER I went to didn't even do the appropriate tests to be able to determine this!!!
So, I have an appt tomorrow to have an ultrasound of my gallbladder and an LFC test done. If it does show a gallstone, I will have to have it removed. Dr. Whipple (my surgeon) says he can do the surgery with east BUT my concern is that he's not in my network. I had to selfpay for the surgery b/c my ins doesn't cover it at all and the hospital he works through is not in my network.
Just wanted to let you know what was going on. I will update more when I get the results from my tests.
They also weighed me and I was down to 261 for a total of 67 since the day of surgery and 71 since the week before :D

332/261/150?
Mandy, I'm sorry to hear they didn't do the test(s) they should have while you were in the ER. I know that's SO frustrating because now you have to go to another doctor and get tests that could have already been run, and you might already know if there's a problem and what it is. Hang in there, and keep us posted. I hope everything is okay, and you start feeling better real soon.
Great job on the weight loss - you're doing awesome!!!
Hi Mandy!
Years ago I had a gallstone blocking my bile duct and it was PAINFUL! I had emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder and all was well after that. I really hope you can get that gallbladder out of there because you will be so much more comfortable!
Is there another surgeon you could see that would be in your network?
Keep us posted! Hope you get it resolved soon!!!

Sorry to hear you even had to go the ER. I hear gallbladder attacks are very very painful. I don't know if it was my age or what, but my surgeon recommended I have my gallbladder out during WLS, so that's what I did.
Let us know how your LFT tests turn out.
Congratulations on your additional weight loss!!!
