Opinions on caffeine - Achiev One
Okay, I've really been wanting to try the Acheiv One protein coffee drinks, since they have 20 g of protein and everyone says they taste so great, but I've been reluctant because I'm guessing they have caffeine.
What is everyone's opinion on drinking caffeine post op? My surgeon says to avoid it because it encourages the snacking and feeling hungry. Has anyone been drinking Achiev One and how has it worked with your weight loss/cravings?
Alisa,
I forgot to mention another coffee drink I like. I put a scoop of the IDS low carb, multi-pro whey isolate protein in my first cup of coffee in the morning. (I save the Achiev One for a pick me up treat later in the day.) The flavor I have is cappaccino. It's very good. One note, you do have to follow the directions when mixing or you will end of with lumps. The directions are easy (once I read them), just mix a tiny bit of water with the scoop and mix with a spoon it until it looks like a thin paste, then pour in your coffee. I also stir while I'm pouring in the coffee. This stuff has 26 g of protein and I read somewhere that it's good to get some good protein early each morning when you first get up. I got all my stuff at bariatriceating.com. A great website and resource for all kinds of products!!
I swear by the AchievOne, and I dont think it tastes so great but I can tolerate it enough to drink one every morning!!!! I was able to buy 34 bottles from someone on the RN messageboard and with S&H it came to $62 where as I pay 30something odd dollars for a 12 pack...................ok I'm rambling but I find that thay REALLY BOOST my energy level and I eat less. You know it may be the opposite for you!!!.
I was ADDICTED to Tim Hortons Iced cappucinos pre op!!!! Never been a big coffe drinker though.
