Ok can someone please give me an idea or suggestion as to why the calve of my legs are numb??They are a tingling numb if you know what I mean.. I had my surgery 5/17/06 and did not really notice it until about a month later. I also have leg weaknees and they continuosly hurt, sometimes to the point that I could cry. I also have trouble climbing stairs as well. I started at 225 and i am now down to 160. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hi Dawn, I can't really say what the numbness is, but perhaps-circulatory problems, but I am not a healthcare professional, and I believe you need to contact your doctor ASAP. Not to scare you but it could be anything from a leg cramp to blood clot. This is serious enough to check immediately. Go to your PCP or ER. Don't mess around, especially if this has been going on for 3 months now. good luck.

Dawn, This could be one of many things. I personally would not mess around with it - I would call my PCP and Surgeon's office ASAP. Good luck and keep us updated. Megan

Another idea might be a potassium deficiency? I know that can cause pain in your legs. Have you had your labwork done yet? Let us know what you figure out!!! Hope you're okay! Deanna

Of course get medical advice first. I also have problems with my calves, not numbness, but cramping a lot with weakness going up stairs. Mine is from an iron deficiency prior to surgery and worse since surgery. Keep us posted!--Suzette --

It could be your potassium level is low, if I am not getting any carbs I have terrible pains in my calfs and wake up in the middle of the night with Charlie Horses. Still go to the doc and have it checked out, always better to be safe then sorry.

I want to thank everyone for there respones to my question. I am going to call the docs office first thing in the morning. I do know that my potassium was low my protein also was low as so was my B12 And B1 all due to the fact that I was sick for 2 months plus after surgery. Just now starting to feel better and have been able to keep foods and liquids down. That is why I only have 30lbs to go to goal weight. But I am getting worried about the legs. Once again thank you it feels so good to come to this board and not feel like you are being judged and no one is hollering at you..
