Does anyone have slight bruising around scars still? I had a problem with the Heprin, probably should never have been given it, that's another story though, when I came home from the hosp. I had awful bruising whole stomach completly black and blue, I've noticed that around two of the scars I am still slightly discolored, is this normal for bruising to last this long. They are not painful just a tad bit discolored?

I do not have any old bruising, but I am scratching the dickens out of myself this week, and constantly bumping and bruising. I swear, I am less coordinated today than I was 85 lbs ago. could be new bruising.

I know how you feel about losing the coordination, our new bodies need to find a new center of balance I guess, I am constantly tripping, falling or walking into walls. I have always been a bit of a clutz but it's worse now, as my husband always says "She ain't no ballerina!" But these are the same bruises from the surgery, they are not bad bruises more ugly then anything. I was pretty badly bruised after surgery, they mayjust need some more time to heal.

I went around a corner a couple of days ago and nearly peeled my freaking arm off, I have no idea why I cut it that close, I know I am not THAT small yet. heehee still hurts, three days later. I still have bruises from the compression cuffs on my legs, so it is entirely possible to have bruising around the incisions and be normal, not that I consider myself any way, shape, or form normal.

You're probably right. Next time I see my PCP I would ask them to check my platelet count, it may be running a little low. It sounds like you had a bruising issue before surgery, so it may just take your body a little while to adjust.

Hi Eileen, When you say bruising - do you mean bruises surronding your scars or your actual scars being bruised looking? Mine are darker in color still...

I mean bruising surrounding the scars, they are darker in color like yours.
