Not dumping but....
Last night we had a bday party for my older brother (just a family dinner really with fried fish, shrimp, etc). I had 3 shrimp and a 3 oysters (small ones from oyster stew). When we finished I had a bite, a very small bite of pie. Now, I have had a small bite of bday cake back in July and small bite of dessert at Longhorn's Steakhouse in July (very small bites both times) and did not get sick at all so I was beginning to worry I could eat sweets BUT last night not 15 minutes after eating that bite of pie I had to lie down for about 30 minutes and the UGH feeling didn't pass until about an hour. I just felt really "unsteady" and "bloated" and "naseaus" (sp). I felt sooooo bad (but no diarreah or vomiting or chills or cramping) but I was sooooo HAPPY b/c now I'm reminded to keep in check NO sugar for me.
Also I have found I can chew one piece of Trident (reg. sugar free) gum, but if I try to chew 2 pieces I get a really uneasy feeling in my stomach.
Just wanted to share. What have been your experiences with "dumping" and "Boy, that didn't sit right"??
Mandy
Yeh, that's how I dump too - I'm dont now at all (thank goodness!) but do have to lie down until it passes. I also find sometimes I have to loosen my clothes on my belly as it feels like it's bloated till it passes (oops - that gives the wrong impression...I meant the dumping finishes, not that the food actually 'passes'
I think it's good to know sugar has this effect - keeps us on the straight and narrow
