You only lost 85 lbs? that is it?
went to the PCP today, she was freaking grinning her head off. she has not seen me in 6 months, so the transformation has been phenomenal. while it is her job to weigh me, and she immediatly noticed 85 lb drop, what she really noticed was the change in my labs. my triglycerides are way down, my cholesterol is dropping, my protiens are significantly up, and overall I am in the healthiest shape that she has seen me since she started treating me 5 years ago. she was nice and said I looked much younger. but she was quick to reassure me that regardless of this, that, and the other, my body is well nurished and exceptionally healthy.
I am exceptionally healthy. period.
WoW moment yesterday.
I walked in to Tacohell where my daughter is working, and she didnt recognize me for 3 seconds. she started to give me a 'normal' customer greeting, it was to die for.
then her manager came out and was blown away that I was so much smaller, and then HER supervisor came out 'innocently' to do 'something' at the counter, and HE was blown away.
so they didnt ask me what my scale said, they didnt ask me what my tape measure said, they just saw that I was smaller and that was all that mattered.
made me think.
the only one obsessing over the number on the dial is
ME.
as long as I look like I have had a bath recently, used some breath mints, they smiled.
WoW!!! 85lbs that is Great!! You must feel fantastic and so proud of yourself! I had my surgery on 05/24/06 and have only lost 58lbs I know it is gonna come off but I wi**** was faster! I really need to exercise and maby that is what is slowing me down. Keep up the good work. What are you eating? Do you eat any carbs? My surgeon only allows meats and a couple of vegetables and I have found it really hard to stick to that. It is sooo difficult to eat only meat expecially since it doesnt sit in my new tummy too well. I cant wait until I get to where you are at! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Darlene,
I wouldnt say I am on a plateau but my scale only moves once or twice a week. My surgeon says I should be loosing a pound a day and that is not happening. I eat less than my three year old son does and sometimes I think I am not eating enough. What kind of foods are you eating on a typical day? Are you still doing protein drinks?
Rachelle
Lean Meats and Leafy green vegetables. nothing else. well mostly nothing else.
I have been known to nibble here and there little things that are totally not on my program, but for the most part if you stick to lean meats and leafy green veggies, you will lose 4 lbs a week.
now the doctor that say that, was my PCP, she has not seen me in 6 months, and so part of that 85 lbs is preop weight. 55 lbs since surgery.
