I saw my surgeon a lot up to my 3 month. Now I don't see him again until November, which will be my six month. When is the next time you see your surgeon?

I see my surgeon again the end of October......as to your other thread about blood work....I have not had blood work done since I was in the hospital. My surgeon says he will do it at 1 yr out. As long as I am able to take the vitamins and keep the protein down he says there is no reason for blood work til then. I am way up in Sackets Harbor and my surgeon is in Elmira which is a 3 hr drive one way for me. So, we brainstormed and decided that in October is a good appt and then again the end of April beginning of May for my 1 yr visit. Kel

Same with me, Megan. I saw my surgeon frequently up to my 3 month too. The next appointment I have is in November for my 6-month, and then the next after that would be my 9-month, then 1-year, then once a year after that for the next 5 years.

My next appointment is in November as well as my labs. I received my lab order at my last appointment in August. Since I will have my 3 month labs (diabetic) my PCP will review both sets of result as well. My hemoglobin has lowered since surgery so we will definitely be looking at my Iron levels. Phenom

I saw my surgeon at 1 week, 1 month, and then will see him again at 1 year. In between then, I see my Bariatric Nurse Clinician at 3 mo, 6 mo (November), and 9 mo. I then see my surgeon and nurse 1x per year for life. ~kelle

I don't get to see my surgeon once I left the hospital! That's why this board is SO helpful to me, giving me support. It's what comes of having to go abroad for surgury. My GP (PCP) has been very helpful, even though he knows nothing about WLS

I saw my doc one week out, then at three months and I think I go again at the six month point. I feel great so I don't have a problem with this, I have a hereditary form of anemia so he did call me a few times in the first couple of months till I could get in and see the hemotologist which I thought was wonderful. Have only had bloodwork once, will go again just before my sixth month checkup
