Anyone here on actigall?? I had a horrible pain at 2:00 a.m. this morning in my upper right chest through to my back. HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Went to the ER but they said that all of my "levels" from my blood work were normal. This a small town hospital not where I had my WLS done. Due to the weekend I probably won't be able to contact my surgeon's office until Tuesday morning. The ER nurse said she thought it sounded like Gall bladder problems, but the blood work supposedly ruled that out. However after doing some research today I think it could still be the problem. Alot of the searches I did came back with the name of the medication Actigall. So I was wondering if anyone here had heard of it or was using it. Thanks so much. Mandy

I take it - supposed to take it twice a day but almost always forget to take my evening dose. I'm a terrible patient!! Kind of sad being a pharmacist who can't be compliant with meds!! My surgeon puts all of his patients on this after surgery for 6 months to prevent gall stones. I'll check now and if you have a link to your personal email in your profile I'll send you some detailed information on it that I'll cut and paste into a Word document. It will probably be more info that you ever wanted to know about it so I'll paste info designed for the patient at the beginning of it. You may want to skip the rest of the info but I'll include it just in case you want to know. I have my personal email address linked on my profile so if you don't have yours linked just email me and I'll reply with the document. Good luck Mandy!! Rick

One more thing... if you want a report detailing any interaction problems with any other medications you may be taking just let me know what else you take and I'll run the report for you and send it too. It will also show any interactions with other things like cigarettes, foods, caffeine, grapefruit juice (many drugs interact with this) and alcohol.

Hi Mandy, My surgeon too puts all of his patients on this after WLS if they haven't had their gallbladder removed. I, fortunately, had mine removed a couple of years ago so I'm not taking it.

Aww.. I'm so sorry to hear that! I wish I could send you something via email to help you get some sleep tonight!! I just clicked on the email link in your profile but rather than opening up my email program it opens a link inside OH which won't allow me to attach the Word document I just created. If you will email me at [email protected] I'll reply and send it to you right away. It looks like you, me and Megan are all here right now since you both replied while I was typing the previous message.

Thank you! hehe If anyone else wants an interaction report on all the meds they take I'd be glad to do the same for you. Just email me directly with the list of meds you take so I can attach the report. Also tell me if you want the report in detail designed for the healthcare professional or converted to terms designed for the patient to understand. It replaces medical terms in layman terms and removes links to studies that back up the information but is easier to understand for those without a medical background. If I'm not told I'll assume the easier one will be desired.

Hi Mandy! I hope everything is ok this morning. I am on Actigal as a preventive measure from my surgeon. He tells us we can take it or not, but I would rather be safe than have an issue. Again, I hope all is ok today! Patti
