re: need encouragement
Hi Heather!
Those plateaus are nasty and you just have to be strong! I'm on one as well and hate it! But, as the leader of my support group always says you should only look at the scale 33% of the time....don't worry about the numbers. Believe me, the first time I heard that I started to cry because I was (and sometimes still am) a scale watcher. I try though not to get discouraged because I know and have been told by EVERYONE that as long as I eat what I'm supposed to and walk like I'm supposed to this WILL work and I just have to be patient. Not always easy!
Keep up the good work and try not to get discouraged!!

It sounds like many of us Mayers are hitting a plateau. I was losing pretty steadily and one pound from my century mark I stopped.. and even gained a couple pounds.
It went up and down and still is a little each day. As of yesterday I was only down 2 lbs in 2 weeks but since it's been floating around the same weight I may be at the same as two weeks ago. You're NOT alone!!
Heather, it seems like a lot of us May 06ers are going through the same thing right now. I'm thinking since so many of us are going through this just as we're getting to the 200 pound mark, maybe it's something that's common with our bodies adjusting and getting ready for the next round of weight loss below 200 pounds. Or maybe it's a time thing, and our bodies are going through a rest and preparation period after 3 months of losing. Either way, we'll get over this little hump and be on our way down soon. We just have to hang in there a little longer.
I got sick of watching the scale go up and down with the same 1 pound for two weeks, so this past Tuesday I decided to not step on the scale again until the next Tuesday morning. That's day after tomorrow. I've been trying to keep up with the exercise, eating and drinking during this week, and hopefully when I step on the scale Tuesday morning I'll see a loss of more than a pound or two. I think you're right that when we're in a stall it's not a good idea to keep stepping on the scale. As long as we're continuing to do the right thing, it's probably a good idea for us to set a rule that we won't step back on the scale for another 2 weeks. This way we won't see the back and forth of a pound or two that happens when we're stalling. I've decided that's what I'll do from now on when I see I'm getting in another stall. This way we can pysche ourselves during the two-week period that we're losing weight, and it will encourage us to even exercise more, and drink more liquids, and eat more protein. So that when we actually do step on the scales 2 weeks later, we'll see a real difference! What do you think? Does this sound like a good plan?
