"Girlie" problems anyone?

Hi there ladies! It is that time of the month for me again ... nothing like getting regular after losing weight, huh?! Anyway, is anyone else finding their periods to be really heavy after surgery? I am using "super plus" tampons and having to change them sooooo frequently! Why can't they make "super super duper plus" ones??? LOL! And the problem is that I don't feel like exercising so I'm just going to have to FORCE myself to the gym tonight. I skipped water aerobics last night because that just seemed like a daunting experience I didn't want to deal with right now! Anyone else bothered by this??? Deanna

Good Morning Deanna!! Happy Friday!! You're NOT alone. Although I've always been "regular" ... my periods PRESURGERY were light and only lasted 3-5 days. POSTSURGERY they're VERY heavy and last a full 7 days. ugh... the joys!

Deanna, I feel your pain also. Before surgery, my periods were regular and heavy, but post op I've been saying that I downright hemmorage every month for 5-6 days!!! The really bad thing is that I probably become kind of anemic during this time and have absolutely no energy. It's during this time of the month that I usually end up missing one or two workouts, because I just can't make myself do it, I'm so tired. All I want to do during these days is go home from work and soak in a nice hot

mine are heavier and more irregular, one month once, next month twice, no rhyme or reason. on the super duper holy cow days, I switch from a plug to a pad, othewize, it is just rediculous! Deanna, Girl who are you telling. I felt like someone turned on the faucet and couldn't plug it back up. I went through tampons about every hour and 1/2 to two hours. I was using the super I guess I better get some supper plus tampons maybe they will work better. Lorraine

Pre op... once a month looked like a crime scene in my house... bled 10 days straight... changing super plus tampon every 30 mins to an hour..used a pad for extra protection and still leaked through... so I begged my doc to just take my damn uterus out..... he said losing weight might help haha yea right! He said he couldnt do any form of surgery on me until I have "tried" something else. I said ok fine... I dont want the pill... I have a hard enough time choking down 2 vits. a day anyway... so he put me on nuva ring (ticked me off because I had my tubes tied for a reason lol) anyway the first month on it... i bled for 3 weeks straight!... second month i had a 2 day barely there period... and so far this month...no period....go figure... I am not complaining by any means but I do know your pain... I hope it gets better for you. -Sarah 263 consult/ 191 current/ 140 goal

Hey there Deanna - Thanks for posting this! I'm glad I'm not the only one. Before surgery I was very irregular, and my periods lasted 3-4 days and were average in terms of flow. NOW, I am super regular, for the first time in my life, its heavy like others have posted, and it lasts for about a week! I've always preferred pads over tampons, but I find that since I have underwear in many different sizes, the larger ones shift around a lot so I've stained several pairs of underwear. Very annoying! I'm on my last day (hopefully) right now, and I'm glad its almost over because I've been very tired this week, and have found it difficult to exercise (though that's not just becasue of the period). Anyway, thanks for sharing! Take care, Heather
