Me and Exercise!?!!
Okay so brutal honesty!! I have done very little exercise since my surgery (I know, I know shame shame shame). I have been doing 3 pound weight exercises with my arms and leg lifts about 3 - 4 days a week (if I'm good).
NOW before you start flaming me.....I went and toured and joined a gym yesterday. I did a little over 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of "trainer directed" weights! and WOW do I feel great. Yeah I'm a little sore but I feel so great for doing it. I only regret I didn't start sooner.
SO, the question is? How much cardio and weights do you do per week???
According to my trainer (he's not a personal trainer but one of 5 that assist at the gym) weights every other day and as weight comes off we'll up it. So I'm thinking 45 minutes of cardio with weights on M W and F and 60 -75 minutes of cardio on T and Th and then at home on Sat and Sun an evening walk or one of my workout tapes. (I work in the small town where my gym is located but its a 15-20 minute drive from my house).
Thanks for listening to my rambling,
Mandy
Hey Mandy
Good for you for joining the gym
I too have not been good on the exercise front, but you have reminded me that before WLS I planned to do workout DVD's. That's something that I can easily do at home.
So thanks for the inspiration and I am going to go out after lunch to get one.
Here's to more exercise and more weight loss for us all
Great job Mandy!
Why in the world would anyone flame you? You did a great thing by joining the gym! You will love it!
I hardly exercised at all before surgery. Now I go to the gym and I do strength training on M, W, F for 45 minutes each night. I do cardio on M, W, F for 40 minutes and on T, TH for 60 minutes. I feel awesome and I really can tell when I miss a day.
Deanna
thanks for postin and motivating
I have a home gym, and I went ahead and did 4.3 miles on my bike in there, so now I have no guilt. ;)

Hi Mandy,
I wanted to say CONGRATS on joining the gym. That's a wonderful step!! My schedule is extreme so I wouldn't go bye what I say.
I do have a personal trainer. I work out six days a week 2-3 hours a day. Three days of the week are with my trainer.
Typical Day:
45 minutes Eliptical or Arc Trainer
45 minutes Treadmill (1/2 jog 1/2 walk)
45 minutes Weights (alternate arms/legs)
20 minutes abs
