Sorry another question

Sorry to be a pain, but I have another question. I've noticed that some people that are my weight/height, are wearing much smaller sizes than I am. I am 5'6", and 177-180 (depending on the scale), I have lost 60-62 lbs, started out in size 22 pants, 2x-3x shirts, and now 4 months later, here I am in size 18 pants, and 1x shirts. What's up with that? Others are posting that they are in 10's, 12's, 14's are too large. At this rate, I will lose 100 lbs, and still be in 14's. I was measured a couple of weeks ago for curves and chest was 44, waist 40 and hips 44. Am I just one big potato here?

Are you sure you're 5'6? lol. (Not to offend ) I thought I was 5'6 and when they measured me pre-op but the RN told me I was 5'5 and that was being generous lol. SO... I'm 5'5 and I weighed 332 at my highest and was in 26/28's. Now at 266 I'm wearing 22 pants and 2XL tops some 1x's and some pull over shirts in 18/20's but then again I can still wear my 24 button ups. Just know that we're all built differently and carry our weight in different areas. AND the style and brand of clothes makes alot of difference too. Mandy

Yeah, I'm 5'6" (unfortunately) I used to be 5'8" but I had back surgery a few years ago and with the added weight compressing on my bones-I lost 2 inches in height. At surgery I was 238, at 5'6" wearing 20/22's and 2-3X shirts. I have been able to fit comfortably into my Old Navy jeans size 16, but then a pair of gouchos I bought at Target last week were size 18. I guess the size of my frame is making the difference. I am definitely in the large frame category, so maybe that has something to do with it. Thanks for the reply. It's appreciated.

Hi What I'm finding is that it is taking my body time to 'catch up' with the weight loss. So I loose lbs then stop loosing lbs and loose inches. It may be that your body needs time to catch up with your lbs weight loss

I guess I'm one of the "ones" you're talking about. I went clothes shopping this weekend and bought all size 12/14's. I'm 5'6.5 and weigh between 203-206. Something you need to consider is that I work out a LOT. 6 days a week 2-3 hours a night. So although I weigh more then you - I have a lot of muscle and my form my be different then yours.

I am no where near 12/14's i am solidly in 16/18 and I am below 200. I am 5ft 7.5in and when I started out in a 3x, now I am in an 1x so you are right where your body needs to be. some of us are ENDOWED, I will always be HUGE on top (40DD) so that changes a lot of things in the clothing department. some girls just do not have big 'girls' to cover up, so they can get into smaller clothes ;) also you may have 'child birth hips' that are just spaced out differently. do not sweat the clothes. one size does not fit all. if I get back down to 150 by thanksgiving, I still doubt that I will be in a 12, hope, but not counting on it. Hi there - I'm 5'4. I started at 254 size 22/24 (3X). Now I'm 182 and in a size 14/16 bottom (depending on the cut) and an XL (16-18) top. I have a 42DD issue so my tops are a larger size than the bottoms, and probably always will be. I hope this helps! It shows there is a lot of variability in body shapes even at similar weights. Take care, Heather
