I read that Kat's pouch is only .5oz recently on one of her posts. I wondered if anyone else knows what size pouch they have and how much intestine was bypassed? Does this vary alot from surgeon to surgeon? I think (but I may be way off) that my pouch is 2oz and 1.5 meters of intestine was bypassed.

I was told mine was 4 oz and I have a restaurant card from the surgeon which states it's 4 oz but I have not done the cottage cheese test. I hear that is the right way to measure. And I don't know about the intestine bypass*(%#$ Debbie

I was told my surgeon is able to make make his pouches smaller because he does them open & double sews over the connection, but I don't know how big it is. .5 oz sounds like b.s. to me, maybe EMPTY that is the size, but I think what we're talking about here is maximum capacity. As far as amount of intestines bypassed, mine was 200 cm (100 for each limb). Darlene

I was shown a 1 oz measuring cup, and told that my pouch was 1/2 that size and that to pure more in it would be stretching it. I have measured the amount of food and pure dense chicken / steak / porkchop, I measure out now (12 weeks post op) is 1.0 oz of food. when I eat that portion, I am STUFFED and can not eat anymore.
