Could you eat.....

I was able to eat bacon at about 6 weeks post-op. As a matter of fact it was almost the ONLY solid food I could eat without throwing up!! I haven't been able to eat it lately, possibly because I assoicate it with the scrambled eggs that my husband always fixes with the bacon. The last time I attempted both, I had a really bad throwing up session. I think that moderation is the key. I can understand your fear...I am terrified that I'm going to quit losing before I reach both the bariatric goal and more importantly my goal (which is about 30 lbs. less). I'm still struggling with keeping solid foods down, but each day gets a little better.

Hi Lisa NO FLAMING HERE!!I eat bacon at least once a week!!I buy the oscar meyer already cooked & bring it to work & pop it in the microwave & just pat it with napkin to take some of the grease away. Maybe next time try some wheat bread !! Did you toast it??Maybe that is why it went down easy??I have had tuna on a half of piece of wheat toast with the crust cut off. It went down ok & sat ok. But i have been soooo afraid to eat Bread. It is a trigger food for me. I am from the south & loved & lived on meat/potatoes/bread...oh well, just wanted you to know, no flaming from here!!We are all human. ~Missy~

I can eat a whole sandwich sometimes, others only the half. Also depends what I'm eating. Heavier stuff just half, lighter stuff like salads or something like that, I can eat more. Sometimes I think "I shouldn't be able to eat this much"...I do worry that I've stretched my pouch out and its not going to work anymore, then I eat something different thats heavier and I get full faster. Weird. I'll probably stress like that for the rest of my life...I'm a worrier anyway!!! Tina
