Could you eat.....
PLEASE no flames!
I made some bacon for lunch and I decided a bacon and mayo sandwich would be good so I made one.
Of course I tore off the crust but I had the rest and I ate the whole thing!
I am by no means stuffed but is this normal?
If I ever decide to eat a sandwich, like bologna or something, I can only eat half but this time I ate the whole crustless sandwich!! It was only 2 1/2 pieces of bacon.
Of course I didnt take my 20 minutes to eat it. That has never really seemed to work for me with certain foods.
Hi Lisa,
I hope no one on this board would flame you. We've all made poor food choices and will continue to do so the rest of our lives. No one is perfect and eating perfect for the rest of our lives is impossible!
Was the bread toasted? Toasted bread goes down less heavy then untoasted. Some days I'm able to eat more then others. Yesterday I was able to eat a slice of toast with tuna and melted cheese - the entire thing. Today I wasn't able to finish 1/2 of it.
Oh Lisa, please don't feel shy about posting ANYTHING here! I wouldn't dream of flaming you ... we all have our food dilemas and it's nice to be able to share them and get support and ideas from others.
I'm like Megan, some days I can eat more than others. I can't really tolerate bread unless it's toasted to a crisp! Otherwise it sits like lead in my stomach. I will have a day where I take a bite or two of something and it sits heavy and I can't eat another bite. Then the next day I feel like I'm eating way too much. Yesterday I felt like I wanted to eat all day long and today I don't have much desire to eat.
It sounds to me like you are perfectly normal! I wouldn't sweat over it ... It's not like you ate a dozen sandwiches. It was one sandwich, without the crusts! You are being way too hard on yourself!
Keep your chin up ... you're doing great!
Deanna
Thanks Megan! Thanks Deanna!
I feel the same way you guys feel.....one day you cant get enough, the next day, dont mention food! I am glad I am normal (well for once in my life...lol)
You guys are great!
But I was ready to get flamed.....hehe....I guess that is not like you huh?
Thanks for being kind!
personally, I have eaten 4 slices of bacon for breakfast at a resturant that served pancakes, waffles, crepes, to me, it was the best choice. ;)
as for the mayo and bread, next time, choose whole wheat bread flour tortilla instead.
but serously, if you didnt EXPLODE, IMPLODE or otherwise die a most horrible death instantly, I am sure you will be fine. ;)
Howdy Lisa!
You know what sugar i think it's an important lesson, everything in moderation, if we could have mastered this prior to surgery i don't think we would have been in this situation! 2-1/2 slices of bacon isn't a whole heck of a lot, did you have it on one or two slices of bread, was it light bread at least? There is no one on here that can tell you what's "normal" your normal might not be mine and i hope no one flames you because who are they to judge? Be Well and enjoy whatever you want but in moderation. Be Well, ANDI
No flaming here! I am seriously PMSing & I've found the 2-3 days before I start, I eat so much more food. Today I ate Japanese steakhouse for lunch: some salad, some rice, some veggies, some shrimp, some steak & then I had some leftovers for dinner & even ate a cheese on wheat cracker with it. I just need to go to bed & call it a day. I feel like a pig.
Darlene
I think it is funny that our worst day post op is still many times better than our best day pre op and we still think we are pigs! lol.
A day I get hungry and tend to munch a bit i think i am so horrible. Then I sit down and do the math...figure out the calories. I'm still not eating much. It is your minds perception that gets you!!!
I agree with everyone - we all want this to be a place of support not condemnation, so NO flaming
Again, some days I eat more than others. Sometimes I eat too much and try to learn from it. This is a journey we are on. We are not perfect - we are just trying our best and using this tool to the best of our ability.
So don't get down on yourself, don't worry you are eatintg too much, keep an eye on the calories if it makes you feel less anxious (but don't obsess) and enjoy seeing the lbs melt away
