the silly 5 year mark...

I was on vacation last week and most family members were happy that whatever I was doing was working. They all knew I had WLS, but my husband's cousin just couldn't help herself. She kept telling me that she knew several people that had this surgery like five years ago and they gained it back and she was certain that would happen to me. I couldn't defend myself. She had an answer for everything. I was glad to read this month's rant on Susan Maria's bariatriceating website. Check it out. It made me feel better. http://store.bariatriceating.com/thismonthsrant.html Rachael

Thanks for this post and link I was not aware of this issue and that it is such a big problem. This has made me determined to get to goal and keep it off. There is NO WAY I am going back to being obese again. Thanks again for the heads up.

Thanks for the article link, Rachel. That was a great read. I'm concerend about this myself. I hope this isn't another "fad" for me. It's scary that it is for a lot of patients.

Cousin-in-laws like that are why we have middle fingers and the ability to lift them. I have asked people who bring that up just why it is important to them that I fail. They squirm and change the subject.
