Advice/words of wisdom?
Hey there everyone
We've been on this journey now for over or almost 3 months now. Lets share what is working for us/not working for us.
Mine is:
Instead of using the word 'only' negatively (eg I've only lost x amount of lbs and still have x lbs to go), use the word 'only' in the context of I've lost x amount of lbs and ONLY have x lbs to go.
I read this on another board and it's really helped me not panic when I feel I'm not loosing fast enough and to be grateful for any loss I have.
Not working is not doing any exercise. I know my loss will be faster when I get up off my lazy backside and MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VERY GOOD ADVICE!!
So I have lost 57lbs and ONLY have 60 more to go!! I am almost half way there!!!!
And yes, my loss would be faster if I would get off my lazy butt!!!!!
My one advice for those of us who have the ornery MR! Pouch. Start each morning with a cup of tea. They make yummy flavored ones now. I heard that this helps and it does!!

What works for me:
I do not eat breakfast(makes me nauseated), I drink a Nectar protein drink (90 cals. & 23g protein) sometimes I do a scoop and a half (135 cals. & 35g protein) & I add it to 24 oz of water. It takes me about 3-4 hours to drink it down, so no food until about noon or 1:00.
What doesn't work:
Eating too many carbs early in the day....it makes me crave carbs all day long.

Great post, Ruth!!
What works for me:
Working out 2-3 hours a day. I've noticed that the harder I work out - the more toned I become and the quicker the weight is falling off of me. This week alone I've dropped 11lbs. This is the best week I've had since having WLS.
What dosen't work for me:
Like Darlene noted - eating carbs. The more carbs that I eat the more I crave. Although I do eat SOME carbs - I try to make them decent choices. When I eat bread I always crave more!!
