For the ladies only
Hi everyone. I have noticed something and I want to know if I am alone in this. Ever since my surgery, 5/22, my period has been so much heavier and more painful. I was absolutley miserable yesterday. I got a horrible headache and I was so cramped up. I haven't felt this bad since before I went on birth control when I was 17. Is anyone else feeling this way???
Thanks
Danielle
Honey, I'm DYING in laughter over here. Isn't that a great frined? But I'm sure you can guess why I'm laughing... Guess who else has this problem? BIG TIME?! It gets better... we're on the same period schedule too. HAHAH I started mine yesterday. WOW. Talk about freaky deaky. I get cramps beforehand like i've never had before and I'm going through tampons like crazy!
Oh heavens yes!!! I used to be lucky to get a cycle before surgery and now they are coming like clockwork and heavy. I go through a ton of "super absorbant" tampons and even that isn't enough all the time. The cramps are hellish! And I noticed that I PMS really bad right beforehand and want to eat a lot. I almost wish I could go back to not cycling!!!

Hi danielle, I use to have very bad periods, bad cramps- stay home from school & work kind. It got better after I had my son 11yrs ago, then when he was 5yrs old it got bad again. Dr did ultrasounds & I had cysts on my ovaries-did lap surgery to remove cysts & found fibroid tumor in my uterus. Then they were much better until he was about 8 yrs old & came back with a vengence-Dr did lap surgery again removed cysts & fibroid tumor & did the endometrial ablation. Everyone I know that had the ablation did not have periods anymore-you know where I am going with this-yep didn't work for me-It did slow my periods down & eased the cramps but I never missed a period. It lasts about 5 days now & much lighter!!This was on my list of concerns as during wls research I had heard your periods could get worse due to the hormones. But I am 3 mths out & everything is the same. So sorry you are having this problem!!Maybe call your gyn & see if they can do something for you. Good Luck. ~Missy~
Hi Danielle-
My period has always been like clockwork. Now it is all screwed up. I take ortho-tricyclen and have always been right on time. I was a week and a half early and used two boxes of tampons. I'm with ya girl. I hope it gets better for you..if you hear of anything that can help let me know.
Thanks,
Diana
Mine have not been bad, but I am having them regularly, which was unusual for me pre-op. I really felt like I was well into menopause (I'm 46) but now here they are again. I have actually always been irregular before and rarely ovulated. I suspect that I am ovulating regularly now. Take that as a warning for all of you sexually active women out there. They really mean it when they say use two forms of birth control! If this can make ME ovulate - WOW!
I think we can probably blame ALL of this on all of that excess estrogen...
After my surgery, I missed my BC pills and mine came back on and stayed on (of and on) for the next month. This month was my first regular cycle but I didn't have any more pain then when I was pre-op. I don't know how it will continue . . oh and did I mention that it was only on for 3 days .
No I really sympathize with all of you because my first 2 months were horrible. But when I called my ob-gyn office, the nurse said that after surgery our cycles can get wacky . . . it will get better believe me.
