I was told to eat six small meals a day FOREVER and thats hard sometimes. I usually have
early am 5 am(drive to work) ~AchievOne
brkfst~ weight control oatmeal
snack~string cheese
Lunch~protein meat(tuna, salmon,chicken breast OR a ATKINS shake)
snack~ protein drink
dinner~ protein meat/veggie
sometimes I may have a protein drink at night for a snack it depends
I get in 120+++++++++ ounces of water
no flaming on me if I share. I eat terrible. I eat what I want when I want I don't think about carbs, calories or fats. I can only eat 1-2oz's at a time, and so if I am craving something I eat it. today. I had 1/2 package of instant oatmeal
3 wheat thins with chedar cheese spread on them
10 small bites of the best potato salad anyone has ever had.
and for afternoon snack I am going to have more potatoe salad (but too full right now to fini****).
Dinner I will have tuna.
I can't seem to drink protein drinks, there is not one that I have tried that does not make me sick. So I drink at least 8oz of milk a day and if I work really hard at it I will succeed in getting down 36oz's of water. I am not the normal wls person on this site. I feel great, my blood work is great, and I don't feel bad at all for what I am eating.
On a good note though, I started to finally do some "Real Exercise" me and my sister joined a belly dancing class. ohhhh what fun it was..... I can't wait to go again next week. Oh, yea my stats as of last saturday are 357lbs to start, and on Saturday I was 277lbs. 80lbs down baby yeah!!!!
Megan Great post!!
My average day is:
B-protein shake/decaf coffee 30g protein
S-string cheese 7gm protein
L-either tuna or egg salad w/5 wheat crackers(sshhhh don't tell my Dr its not on his list) or pintos & cheese (extra cheese) from taco bell-or wendys chili (half now half later).
D-I mix it up-I have had hamburger w/cheese (no buns), we use to eat out mexican alot before surgery-so I still go w/my family-I just order different-usually beans & cheese or burritto no lettuce no tortilla. I have made omlettes(sp?) love ham & cheese or wendys chili. Also i make the taco soup minus the corn. Chicken anyway execpt fried! I also had some steak & spinach artichoke dip(no chips just ate it w/spoon)& sweet potato (had this on my b-day.
I feel so fortunate nothing has bothered me yet, but i have definetly stated away from sugar & bread.
Today I am having a blue bunny carb freedom yogurt smoothie blackberry creme yumm!
13gm protein.
I have strayed from my dr list & had watermelon (I craved this like I was prego)& sunflower seeds(chewed very finely).

I guess my surgeon is a little more strict with our eating guidelines. We are allowed only protein for the first 6 months and never should have rice, lettuce, pasta, and bread. I had surgery on 5-3-06 and have lost 65 pounds. An average day for me would be
B: 3 oz cottage cheese/1 string cheese or a 2 egg with cheese omelet
L: 4 oz of sloppy joes or fajita type chicken with cheese
D: 4 oz of chicken salad or meatloaf
I sometimes have some trouble when I am eating with food getting stuck so I have to stick to more moist type proteins.
Another rule that we have is NO SNACKING, even is it is heathly because he says this can quickly progress to non-healthy snacks and grazing which is how many of us ended up this way to start with. An acronym of PEWS is what he also uses... protein, exercise, water and snacking - NO.
I am still eating challenged. Some days are better than others. I have a hard time eating in the morning. No protein shake is good. They either taste very bad or come back up after I drink them. An average day?
AM: 3 canned tamales ( they never upset my tummy) or 2 crackers with peanut butter
SNACK: string cheese or small piece of beef jerky
LUNCH: pintos and cheese with ground meat added ( i can eat about 3/4 of it) or 2 oz turkey and cheese
SNACK: a few pirates booty or guilty pleasure- 2-3 pringles
DINNER: Protein- no chicken ever- goes down like rocks- something cheesy and moist- a good choice seems to be 1/2 gardenburger with cheese or more tamales
TREAT: sugarfree fudgecicle (healthy choice- YUM!)
I drink water all day. I drink green tea too. I usually get close to the 64 ounces. I take my vitamins and tums regularly.
I have lost 78 pounds since 5/24/06. I am down 4 sizes and feel great. I was so good at going to the gym a few weeks ago. My studies (I am getting my PhD) has consumed my time. I am getting myself back there tomorrow.
