Help with meal ideas!
I really need help with meal ideas, or even differnt food ideas. I am soooo stuck in a rut, and its getting me down. I eat chicken ( and get sick 1/2 the time from it), refried beans and cheese, crackers and cheese, yogurt, eggs, tuna fish sometimes, tofu once in a while, some cooked veggies.......and thats about it. (Not including protein supplements and water). Does anyone else eat South Beach bars as a snack when they are on the go? Any ideas are really appreciated!!
Thanks,
Kathryn

HI Kathryn, I eat the South Beach bars as a snack. Usually eat half for morning snack then the other half for afternoon snack. Have you tried chili, I know its hot outside but I still love chili. & I fixed omelets for my family the other day.The works for them & ham & cheese for me.How are you pre-paring your chicken?I do rotisseri(sp?) & also I have cooked chicken breast in olive oil & seasonings(whatever you like) til almost done then wrap with bacon (stick toothpick in to hold bacon on) & cook for 15-20 min on 350 then remove toothpick & top w/cheese. Bacon keeps chicken moist but i pull it off mine & just eat chicken & cheese. also i seen a recipe on the recipe forum for chicken in the crockpot w/sour cream & salsa.can't remember the specifics but it sounded good.I have heard that if we cook in the crock pot it will keep the meats moist. A friend told me to put some bone in pork chops (seasoned) in crockpot w/onion cover w/water & add some worstishire(sp?) let cook slowly til meat falls off the bone.I haven't tried that one yet.Hope this helps.~Missy~
Hi Kathryn,
If you haven't already done so, check out the Recipe Forum on the OH site. They have a TON of recipes and you can print them out from your computer. I did this a couple of weeks ago, because I was also in a giant food rut. I laughed at what you said you'd been eating because that sounded EXACTLY like my diet for the past few weeks.
Anyway, hope you find something good! You might also try going to the internet and looking at sites that have recipes or Food Network.com
There are also a few gastric bypass cookbooks out there - I found them on Amazon.
Good Luck!
Cindy
