Hi everyone! I was just curious if anyone else still throws up from time to time? I had a nasty episode with my scrambled egg this morning. Yuck! It seems like a have a bad spell a couple times a week where something gets stuck and/or I end up throwing up. Is anyone else still going through this? I seem to be okay on most days. But it seems like chicken, pork, and occasionally eggs will cause this reaction. Anyone else? I'm down 65 pounds though and I'm loving that!!! Deanna

Oh yes, I do once or twice a week. I notice I have trouble if I eat too fast, sometimes when i try something new or even if it is something that I have had before. It just seems that sometimes things just don't agree with my pouch that day. It's a terrible feeling but I figure it's just part of the deal. I can not pin down a certain food source but I do know if it is not supermoist it will probably come up. I choose to use these episodes as a reminder to follow the rules and watch very carefully what and how I eat. Congrats on your weight loss so far that is spectacular! Trish

Yes Deanna JUST finished , on some shrimp!!! It happens when I eat to fast or "under chew" as my son says. He comes running in the bathroom "like mom did you underchew????????" Its weird because I just open my mouth when I feel it and it just rolls out so easily...yeah gross and graphic I know........Sorry. BTW 65 lbs is GREAT!!

yep, so far not for a week, but I am breaking up my 'standard' meals in 1/2 and taking 1/2 hour break between eating. so I eat .5 oz, wait 30 minutes an eat the other .5 oz also, I do not seem to be cured of going after 'exotic' foods. I had to get some wendy's chili yesterday, an that is staying down nicely. I tried an EAS Advant Edge protein shake (that could have gone either way) today successfully I also tried a sip of costco berry smoothie without consequence. I can eat 99% of all meats (just high fat hamburger make me barf) and eggs make me neasiated. I take it one day at a time and do not stress about the puking. if you are having trouble with meats, double check your oil content before and during cooking. so far they are the safest things for me (including my ham today)

Hi Deanna, I've only threw up once since my surgery, and I am pretty sure it was because I got a little "quick" with a piece of grilled chicken. On another note, (Confession Time !) Recently, at a restaurant with my family and granddaughters, I ate a few chips with some queso sauce. Bad choice I know, but the really bad choice was, I drank water while I was eating the chips. I did not over-eat at all, maybe 5-6 chips over a 10 min period. But suddenly I felt nauseated and weird. It passed within about hour and I never barfed. Moral of the story ? Drinking with your meal flushes the food (especially carbs) from your "yak sak" or pouch, into your small intestines which can cause a high blood sugar spike, which in turn causes your pancreas to dump a load of insulin into your blood stream really quickly....causing nausea and Other than that, eat slow, chew well, and try not to bite your tongue ! Humbly, Jeff

Oh Jeff! You had be laughing so hard! I love your term "yak sak!" Too funny! I also tried some tortilla chips with queso sauce ... only about 4 of them and they went down okay. Felt really full though! Thanks for the advice ... You put a smile on my face today! Deanna

Hi Deanna - I've been having the same problem about once a week. Sometimes with food, but mainly with my pills. I am on non-extended release formulas which means that I have to swallow 6 pills x 3 times a day = 18 pills! That doesn't even include supplements! Anyway, I find that if I swallow them too fast I have to throw them up. I've also found that if I'm stressed or rushed I'm more likely to puke. I think the pouch constricts under stress and stuff gets stuck. With food, its usually when I've eaten too much, or if what I ate doesn't agree with me. Hang in there! Heather

Hi Heather! Wow, 18+ pills a day??? You must be full on pills all the time! That is interesting you mentioned you have more problems when you are rushed or stressed. I need to take a look at that because I wonder if that is part of my problem too. I was in a hurry yesterday and feeling a bit stressed out and my whole day was "off" on my eating. Luckily today is going much better so far!!! Thanks for your help! Deanna
