2 month checkup
Hello everyone I know its been awhile but I have to lurk quite a bit since now being monitored at work. So just know that I do think about all of you and pray for your continued success. Today was my 2 month check up I wasn't very happy with the outcome because I figure a person of my size should be losing weight at a faster pace than what is going on but I lost 14 pounds this month I know to some that is a great number but to me I was hoping for 20 or even 30 pounds. But the scale only said 14 so now I am angry and hurt but going to do something about it. What am I going to do about it I am going to workout. There is that nasty word workout. Yes I have decied that the only way I am going to see the results I want is to workout. I know that even with the exercise I would see big numbers but I will see steady number. I am thankful that I was given this gift of life and please keep me in your prayers. Oh by the way my total weight lose is 53 pounds 10 prior to surgery so I guess that is a reason to smile 100 pounds loss her I come so look out 47 pounds to go.

Hi Lorraine
Good to hear from you. I can imagine how disappointed you are - you know all the words about don't worry about the speed just as long as the weight is coming off, etc. etc. but it's hard to think like that when it's your own body isn't it.
I agree with the workout stuff - I'm finding it hard to get motivated in that area but know I will see better results if I did.
Hope things improve for you - don't get too down, you're doing really well. I was amazed to read you lost 10lbs prior to surgery, well done
good for you.. i too hate working out, but i know if i wanna continue to loose I gotta do it. So i got that Chicometric dvd yesterday.. watched it twice...no exercise...lol.. I'm getting closer.. For lunch today i broke down and did it.. not to bad... yikes... I will feel it later im sure... good luck and dont worry you will get there
Hey there Lorraine -
I'm a lurker too...things have been crazy work-wise so I just read the posts.
I know you are disappointed about the 14 pounds, but my doctor told me to expect 12-13 pounds per month, not more, otherwise its too fast and I'll lose my hair. I hope this helps you feel better!
Take care,
Heather
Howdy Lorraine! Please don't feel bad, I go for my 2 month check up tomorrow and I'm only down like 9 pounds. I'm trying to drink mass amounts of liquid as we speak but really i'm just going to be piddling all day! My doctor told me to expect about an 8-10 pound loss t his month so i'm right where he told me to be! It's all relative i bet. I still feel huge and obese (which i am) but i'm starting to fit into clothing i wore like 10 years ago and that thrills me. Please be well and keep up the good work and add in that dreaded E word, you'll like the results. ANDI
hugs.. I was told by my dr 4 lbs a week, or 16 lbs a month, so honestly, you are right on target. any faster and you are looking at 'problems' with your gall bladder and hair loss and worts on the end of your nose. ;)
'patience' and perseverance.
I am not saying not to exersize, simple walking should be sufficent, peddle on the bike a couple times a week, but do not over do, your body is already under some strain, let it do it's job and not overdo.
16 lbs a month is the recommended loss (for someone that is 250-300 lbs) and so you are in a good spot.
