I have been exercising daily for 30 minutes a day plus. However, just recently my leg has been hurting more and more to the point I cannot sleep at night. Like before my surgery. Has anyone experienced more pain with exercise? If so, did you cut back on exercise or just switch excercises? Did this help? There is not much I can do without my leg but I am trying. I keep putting off going to the doc because I feel that after I lose more weight, this will help. I'll give it another few months but do need advise on the exercising. Please help. Take Care of you, Debbie

It sounds like you may have tendinitis. Google it and read about it and make sure. If you have tendinitis, you should lay off working on that leg as much as you can. I've had shoulder and elbow tendinitis for about a week now from playing so much softball and batting practice, that I've had to stop playing since. Hopefully, it doesn't take long for yours to heal.

Thanks so much for the advice. I know it's some bad bones too but not all this pain. I just didn't want to cut on the exercise but I think I have to just enough to ease the pain. Did cutting into your ball playing or should I say exercise hurt your loss at all? Debbie

I have to take 'recovery days' between exersize days, which is recommended for 'none surgery peopes' as well. for me, I increase my exersize on even days and then have no exersize on odd days.

That sounds like it may work for me. How much do you push on even days then? Debbie

I truly listen to my body on a day by day basis. one day I will be able to go 3 miles, the next 6, the next 2. it is easier to push when you are 'away' from home than when you are 'at' home. one day I pushed to (bike) 9.2 miles and took two days to recover, two days ago, I pushed to (walking) 6 miles and I am on day two of recovery. I do think that you do need to push that hard occasionally, to completely tear down and then are that much stronger when you recover. but 'in general' I think that I push to 70% of my strength on most days and 100% once or twice a month is about what I do.

Sounds like your doing great. Thank you so much for the suggestion. I think I can do that and still have some strength left in my leg. It has been bothersom for years now and has kept progressing worse. I am hoping the weight loss will bring more muscles and strength back. I know it will never be as good as it was but I hate the fact that it's slowing me down so much. I certainly will give this a try. Thanks again. Take care of you, Debbie

I am not 24 anymore, I am not 24 anymore, I am not 24 anymore, this is something that I have to keep telling myself. what my body could do when I was 24, is NOT what it can do today. I have used and abused my body for 40 years, now I have to work with what I have left rather than what I had before I went nuts with the food.

And that is the awful truth all in a nut shell. Nor am I 24 anymore and I have done great damage to my body over the years with all this excess weight. So to start all over we need to go slow and yes indead - LISTEN TO OUR BODIES. Thanks so much for the truth and a great start to the future of health. It'll all come in time. Take Care of You, Debbie
