This weekend was rough. ALmost everything I ate either made me dump or throw up. I haven't had either experience much so it was a hard weekend. Today I've had little to no desire to eat - and NOTHING sounds good. I don't even want to eat but know that i have to. Maybe I need new food ideas. Totally open for suggestions on foods... BTW: I'm down 32lbs. I got on the scale on Saturday and it had dropped 6lbs overnight! Feeling much better about the weight loss.

I CAN DITTO YOUR MESSAGE. I am down 31 lbs and really sick of trying to think of things to eat that my tummy might like. I had my first dumping last Wednesday and then again Friday and I do no want to repeat that experience!!!!! By the way - Is not dumping and throwing up the same thing? Today I had oatmeal for breakfast, cheese stick and soup for lunch, then just had a cheese stick and cottage cheese. - Only 46 gr of protein but I am tired and need to go to bed!!

Dumping is dumping syndrome and totally different than throwing up or vomiting. Dumping syndrome is an unpleasant reaction that can occur after a meal high in simple carbohydrates, which contain sugars that are rapidly absorbed by the body. Stomach contents move too quickly through the small intestine, causing symptoms such as nausea, bloating, abdominal pain, weakness, sweating, faintness, and sometimes diarrhea after eating.

This adjustment phase has been hard on me as well. Nothing tastes good anymore. It's not that I'm hungry, because I'm not and I don't want to eat. It's just that I know I need to be eating, so either I'm having to force myself to eat something that just tastes awful to me, or I'm getting "head hunger" for carbs (i.e. pasta, rice, cookies). Before the surgery I was a carboholic. I loved white rice, pasta, cookies, cake, that kind of thing. Sweet tastes make me kind of nauseous, so I"m not craving the cookies and cakes now, I'm really craving some lasagna, spaghetti or plain white rice. To be honest, right now I'm mostly eating soup, string cheese, and a little piece of chicken in the mornings. Guess what I've been eating like it's going out of style? Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon! lol. I chew the watermelon, and then spit out the "meat." It give me liquid, I'm chewing, it tastes good, and the sweet taste of watermelon doesn't make me feel sick. But I'm with you, Megan, the chore of eating has taken all the fun out of it that I used to have, so I'd rather not eat at all. I'm hoping it will get better....

Hi Megan, For some reason baked fish & shrimp ****tail seemed to make my pouch happy last week. I tried steamed zuchini & summer squash on Sunday prepared with soy sauce & my stomach has not felt right since. Do you think it could be from the seeds in the veggies? They were very tender. I just feel gross too. Up until this week, I have been doing fine. Congrats on the 6 pounds! Did you take your calcium? I'm stuck again...grrr! Darlene
