Hi Darlene At the moment I am just enjoying being able to eat again as I had some problems last weekend. But anyway, I find scrambled eggs are good if I make them soft, and chicken if I chew it well. The beans will be full of protein. I think we have plenty of time to get in more protein. Our pouches are still recovering from surgery so I'm not forcing mine to have anything other than what it 'likes' Try out a mouthful of something. Your pouch will soon tell you if it doesn't like it. Hope all goes well for you

Good Morning Darlene! Go slow on the chili, beans first then the other stuff. I like lemon butter so what i do is spray the skillet with some of that fake nonsense, sautee some garlic in it then put the fish in (could use olive oil) little salt and pepper, then i squeeze a fresh lemon over the whole thing. I also use the carb control asian marinade on my fish, this is really nice for a change. I use the carb control bbq sauce and i cook my chicken in it, it comes out really really moist and tender and that way i can get it down. Isn't it amazing how food is no longer as much fun? hello Darleen, I'm 3 weeks post op and still supposed to be on my pureed diet but i chew very soft foods very well. I eat cottage cheese, salmon, tuna, eggs, cheese, shrimp.... I tried some mayo (low fat) and ketchup mixture to dip my shrimp in and was able to eat it. Next week i plan on making either and egg salad, tuna salad or chicken salad. I learned a way to "poach" my chicken so it comes out very moist: Put boneless, skinless breasts in a pot and cover with COLD water just to cover. Add 1 Tbsp. vinegar. Cook over medium heat. When it just starts to boil remove it from the heat and let it stand until room temp.....now I haven't tried this yet but it seems like the meat has to be fairly thin??? Next week I'll give it a try. If you get to it first please let me know if it worked well. Take care, Peace Elena

I'm eating a lot of egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, you get the salad picture. I've also pureed the Wendys chili and it is really good. When I first thought of pureed foods, I thought , but I havent had any problems with the pureeds. I have had some fresh fruit to put in a protein smoothie(strawberries and banana).

Thanks for the ideas!!! What do you put in your salads? Just lite mayo or what? I expect no onions or celery - Right? They say we can eat mashed potatoes - but I do not think there is any protein in them, is there?

I make instant mashed potatoes with all milk instead of milk and water. a half cup milk and 1/3 cup instant potatoes is 6 grams of protein. Not bad. What i have done is gotten beef baby food (8 grams) and put that over it. Heated it is the consistancy of gravy, and it's only 2 ounces.

Hi all - Truthfully I have not done very well with the whole eating/pureed foods. I mostly live off of yogurt, cottage cheese, fat free refried beans w/fat free sour cream, pudding, and oatmeal w/calorie free maple suryup. I DO try and suck down a protein shake every other day. I don't try many new foods because I will get sick and be in the bathroom for 2 hours. I tend to stay with the things I can keep down which is a fairly limited list right now. I really need to get more protein in because I am run ragged by 2:00 everyday. I have to go back to work on Tuesday....and won't be able to take a nap at work....WHA...
