Weight Loss is SOOOO SLOW!
WOW! wE ALL SEEM TO BE IN THE SAME BOAT!! I had my RNY on 5-15 and I have lost 31 lbs. I was stuck on 24 lbs and then did not get weighed for a week and then WOW! 7 more. I go to the Dr again on Friday and was hoping for 40 but I guess I will be happy at 35. I think I read someplace that you can expect to loose 20% of your excess weight in the first 6 weeks so if you do not have much more than 100-120 to lose then 27 is GREAT! But I know what you are thinking and I agree - Why does it just fall off some people. I know a girl who had it May 8th and is in the 50+ lbs lost.
Hi Megan. I'm so sorry you're having a tough time. I did hear that apparently the more you have to lose then the quicker you'll lose it. So I wouldn't worry too much. I'll admit, I was hoping to lose more by now too, but you're body will do what it needs to do. Just think, in 6 months you'll probably be down like 60 pounds more and be even more gorgeous! That's what I keep telling myself so I stay positive. It doesn't always work though! Take care!
I also want to let you know that tyou are not alone. I had my surgery May 5th and I'm only down somewhere between 28 and 30 lbs. It goes up and down. I am just going to go with the flow. I know it will come off, hell because I can't eat anything that will make me not lose. I get sick everytime I try to eat too much or drink too much. So I am going to start walking more and lifting some very light weights, but that's it for a while. I have tried some water aerobics and it helps. Good luck to all of us!!!
