Hey everyone. I am 2 weeks out from an open RNY today. I had my surgery on May 31st. I saw the surgeon yesterday to have my staples removed and he said i could move on to the soft food stage, and to try new things. GUESS WHAT I DID TODAY!!! I went to Boston Pizza with a friend, and I ordered some pasta. YUMMY!! I didn't have very much, maybe 1/2 a cup, and brought the rest home. But being able to eat like a human again was such an incredible feeling. He says as long as I chew chew chew and grind my food to a pulp I'll be totally fine. He did however advise to stay away from fruit and veggie skins, seeds, lettuce, and other gassy veggies for another couple of months! I am so excited about being able to actually eat...... and not drink and such. I see him again in about a month.. I am feeling great, have a lot of engery and even though I had this surgery open versus lap I honestly feel awesome. I have been out shopping, and did tea with my friend, and out to Boston Pizza today and my wls support group last night. I can finally see the light through the forest. I am on my way!!!!!!!! Yippee!!! Carrie
