14 days out and feeling strange!!
Hi,
i had my surgery on May 9th...the first two weeks I felt so awesome...better than I thought I would. The third week I felt like a truck had hit me. I was so tired..all I could do was get up and get the kids off to school and then fall asleep til noon. Then by about 7 in the evening I was wishing it was bedtime. That lasted about a week or so...and was kind of depressing. I just figured my body needed the rest so whenever possible, I did. The next week I felt really good again. I still rest..took a nap today infact....but it isn't everday like during the 3rd week. We are all still recovering...rest..pamper yourself...heal. Take Care, Dawn
I'm 14 days out today, and have realised that this surgery is quite traumatic to our bodies - more than I realised it would be. Not only have they 'messed about' with our insides, but our bodies are getting used to eating differently, and absorbing nutrients differently. Also, our bodies had got lazy and used to getting energy and calories from the excess fat, and now it is having to work hard for it's energy.
I think we are all doing really well. Remember, we have made the right choice for a healthy life.
Speedy recovery to all
Hello Ruth,
Yes, a speedy recovery to you too. I agree, this is much more involved than I realized. I wound up going from the DR to the ER for an EKG and bloodwork. My iron and other blood levels were very low and they were looking at a blood transfusion if the iron doesn't work. I feel better today even though I'm exausted. Trying to keep up with the water and Protein. Thanks for your response and congrats on being a looser!
Take care,
Peace,
Elena
